3

Everett.

Oh Everett.

What am I going to do with you?

You are 3.

You are so adorable.

You are terrible. And whiny, naughty, loud, emotional, naughty, terrible, whiny, and whiny and mean and terrible.

You are 3.

For two nights in a row I've had to lock you in your bedroom because you've been so naughty. You bang on your door and scream so loud that the pictures on your wall are crooked in the morning.

You are 3.

You won't go to bed. You won't nap. You wake up at 5:30 every morning.

You are 3.

All you eat is cereal. Or peanut butter and jelly... but "NO PEE-WEE-BOW-EEE!!! (peanut butter)" Sometimes you'll eat "chick-eee-nug-eeeeees"

Anytime there is something healthy on your plate you say "NO THIS"

You are 3.

You used to be good at coloring in the lines.

Now you just scribble. Like a baby.

But you are 3.

You were the 'star student' at school and got to fill out a paper with all of your favorite things to tell the class about.

Your favorite color: NO!
Your favorite food: NO!
Your favorite book: NO!
Your favorite animal: NO!
Your favorite toy: NO!
Your favorite song: NO!

You are 3.

And I don't like it.

But you are still 3.

And I love you. Because someday you will be 4.

  1. I really hope 4 gets better for you. 4 has been absolutely terrible for us. The temper tantrums have intensified. Avery refuses to apologize to anyone for anything. Unless it's her idea. And then it's just sweet and sugar. Until the next tantrum starts (about 5 minutes later). Who knew kids were so rotten??? It would be nice to live closer and let our rotten kids play and share woes. But someday they will get better, right? Right??
