I LOVE you Bridget!

My little sister turned 10 last night. Bridget has the BEST giggle in the entire world and I miss her so much. I have not seen her and the rest my family in Colorado for 1 year and 23 days. Last time we went to visit, I snapped these cute pictures of her. Top 10 reasons why I love her so much: 1. I love that Bridget giggles like there is no tomorrow 2. That she sends me love notes via snail mail 3. Donated her hair to locks of love last year 4. That she plays the violin 5. Has the cutest pouty face in the entire world 6. Tells me she loves me all of the time 7. Is a girly girl 8. Agrees with me that Jake is cute 9. She has the tiniest arms and legs of any other 10 year old 10. And I LOVE that she is always thinking of others and shows her love so freely

So Flippin' HOT

One of the things I don't miss that much about Utah was the heat. Our first place we lived in was so incredibly hot.We lived in the upper floor with no AC and it just boiled us alive. Well for about the past week, it has been so HOT and once again we are without AC. To help with the heat, our friends invited us to the lake with them Jake, Ezra, Mila , Nora, Vaughn, Ernie, and Michelle on the boat and Jake Surfing the wake Today it took twice as long to get home in the heat. Something happened on the rail road tracks and no one could get across. I finally got home and needed to do some laundry, but who wants to turn on the dryer when their house is 93 degrees? So I improvised! It is supposed to be really hot for the next two days too. I hardly sleep at night, but at least it doesn't last all summer like it did in Utah.

My New Addiction

I have so many super things to write about. I have been meaning to unpack some boxes that contain childhood memories and scrapbooks. I finally got around to doing it after work today. I don't know how I ever lived without some of the things I unpacked. Jake and I moved two months ago and these things used to be on the top shelf of the closet in our old house. I looked at them sometimes, but not really. Then just this last weekend we went to my in-laws house and they gave us a big bin full of things they were keeping of Jake's to give him when he got married. We took it home but didn't dig though it. I fell in love with Jake all over again as I looked through his past. He is such a special guy and I know that I am his special lady because in all of his yearbooks, girls confess their love for him that he only realizes now that they adored him then. Then as I kept digging in my husbands past, I find many of his old football jerseys, dirtbike gloves, stuffed animals, plaques...

Strawberry Toast & The Seattle Temple

Last night Jake and I went to the Temple. It is about an hour drive in the rush hour traffic of Seattle. Jake was SUPER grumpy because of some mishaps at work, so I spent a majority of the hour either quiet, or trying to make him happy. By the end of the night Jake was a little better but a little hungrier too. When I asked him what he wanted to eat when we got home, with a great big smile he answered "Strawberry Toast." You see, strawberry toast has a history with Jake.... when Jake was a kid, his friend Travis Robinson, Travis's Dad, and Jake were out eating breakfast one morning and the waitress asked Jake what kind of toast he wanted with his eggs. "Strawberry" was his answer. Everyone smiled and the waitress asked again, what kind of TOAST would you like...."Strawberry." Finally she had to spell it out for him....what kind of bread do you want me to toast. Sometimes this is just the way Jake is, you have to spell things out for him. I just love J...

A new adventure

So one of my childhood friends (Ashlee) has a blog that I stumbled upon one sleepless night about 4 months ago. I read her ENTIRE blog and she had so many heartwarming and inspiring stories that I immediately wanted one of my own! Through her blog she inspired me to be a better person....which may have never been her intention with her blog. Many of my other friends have blogs that they fill with GREAT pictures and stories of their families. I am not sure what will happen with mine, but it will be a great way for my mom and dad to keep tabs on me! Last night I was talking to Jake about if we had a blog, what would he want the address to be.....Berninblog is what he came up with. You know, because our last name is Berner....but I guess my less witty choice won. I hope everyone enjoys!
