Drinks At The Bar

Strawberry slushies...... and milk

11 Then 12

I was 12 when this beauty was born She's a giggle monster and is as sweet as can be She'll make a fantastic mom someday... but until then, happy 11th birthday Bridget!

This Little Face

I have a new button on my side bar. Its a place for those who are having a hard time having babies... or having more babies. I am sure that experiencing infertility can take you to your lowest lows.... so I thought that this blog could help if you find yourself in that situation. So until you have your babies... or more babies, you can look at this little face: *Have you ever tried saying something and it just didn't come out right? Well thats what I feel happened with this post a little bit. I'm not trying to make you feel bad that you don't have a baby and I do... I just think, 'how can you not be happy when you look at him?'

2 Months 2 Fast

You're right. Time does go by fast. A little too fast. I look at his newborn pictures and I almost want to cry at how much he has grown in these last 2 months. He can roll over now. I'm sure I will be talking about how he can crawl before you know it. But when it comes down to it, I'm glad he's growing. I just get a little nostalgic from time to time. So here's to remembering the good times... all of the time. Not a day goes by that he doesn't make me laugh or melt my heart. At only 2 months old he has stolen our hearts. Being a parent is a good reminder to enjoy this moment because it goes by so fast.

Everett's Dad

Everett's Dad watches Saturday morning cartoons with him Plays 'dress up' with him Gives him baths And reads him stories at night Everett has a great dad.

True Or False?

I picked this up at a yard sale for 5 cents. False. I didn't have a nickle. It was free. Everett likes listening to me sing . False. He prefers Guster, Jack Johnson, Eric Hutchinson, and Dave Matthews. Seriously. He stops crying for them... not me. Stephanie and her super sweet husband spent the night last night. True. They drove up the west coast stopping at all of the lighthouses. (but we don't live in a lighthouse... its a clay color) They just left to drive ALL OF THE WAY back to Wyoming. (sadly, that's true too) I think I am so funny. True.

8 Seconds

Bull riding anyone?

Happy One

The first raspberry from our bushes I started my blog a year ago today. I can hardly believe it has been a year already. But there is more cause to celebrate.... this is my 250th post! I can hardly believe that either. So, thank you Ashlee for the inspiration to start my own blog and thank you Dad for being my first reader. So in memory of the early days, I scanned through the 250 posts and thought that this one was worthy of "re-posting." Thanks for reading A Touch of Tyrell!

Mud On The Tires

When we were still expecting we searched craigslist for good baby deals. We ended up getting an entire 12 month wardrobe from a lady who only had 1 son... and that's all she wanted. So the clothes are in awesome shape and fit the seasons (for the most part). These blue shorts were included in the mix but there wasn't a matching top. So I made one. And Everett loves his new shirt! It even has mud on the tires. (Really it was a mess up, but we won't tell him!) It was really nice yesterday afternoon... so we spent it outside.

Me, As A Mom

And I like it all.

Bonus Feature

Last night we were walking into the mall when Everett's pacifier fell out: I have watched this video a hundred times and could watch it a million more times. And don't worry, we aren't mean parents. We put his pacifier back in but he just spit it right back out. I love this kid!

SMH

Everett got this life size bear in the mail a few weeks ago. It's from his great grandpa Foster who lives in Texas. The bear is dressed in the same outfit the boys wear on formal days at the school he teaches at (SMH). Thoughtful & sweet! We love it.

Be Kind, Please Rewind

Everett pooped his brains out last night and ended up naked for a little bit. He LOVED it. We may or may not have that little boy who runs around in batman undies all summer. The videos get a little out of focus.... but they're still good. And this is a tutorial on how to rock a baby to sleep... 1 2 3

I Can Ride My Bike With No Handle Bars

Do you remember when mountain bikes first became popular? Me too! I can still remember the stinging disappointment one Christmas morning when my Dad led Montana and I into the bedroom where our new mountain bikes were hiding. When my Dad revealed our Christmas gifts, I instantly gravitated to the one I wanted. I went up to it and admired the beauty. My leg was half swung over the bike when my Dad said that one was meant for my sister. Mine was pink and turquoise. I was 8. An 8 year old tomboy. Pink, Dad? Pink? Funny thing is, every summer of my life after that I couldn't stop thinking about how mine was SO MUCH COOLER than hers! One summer I even plastered Kick Butt stickers on the back of my seat. I'd like to think I grew up on the back of a bike. That kick butt bike was not the first or the last bike I rode around town. The ones that preceded were puppy love, had frills off the handles, had crooked handle bars from being wrecked, were starting to rust, were orange and pink, a...

The Heat Is On (In Our House)

Effie made this sweater and hat for Everett before she ever met him. How did she know that he would need a warm outfit like this for the summer...that fit just right? Everett hates to complain, but what happened to summer time?

7 Hours

This little guy slept for 7 straight hours last night. I'm smiling too! He's been smiling and 'talking' so much more lately. I love it!

Where Does He Get It?

This little man just has to cry and cry anytime we are at his Dr's office. Maybe its because he gets poked every time he is there....and he's too young to appreciate the sparkly bandaid. But he now weighs 8 lbs 14 oz and is 23 inches. At birth he was 8 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches. He is only in the 25th percentile for weight but 75th for height. Tell me, how do you grow 2 inches in 6 weeks? He's long and skinny.... definitely didn't get it from Jake or I! And check out those abs! Okay, maybe they're not abs....

Mt. Rainier

Everett's been all over the place. A few days before we went to Portland we took a drive up Mt. Rainier. I had never been, Jake hadn't been in 10 years, and we thought the family would like it. We've never been so wrong. Crappy weather and crappy attitudes created a crappy day. At least Everett was good and we had some awesome hats that Effie made us.

Portland in Montana

This is my sister Montana. She's stinkin hilarious, shops at thrift stores, is very generous, hardly ever takes a serious picture, and has a heart as big as Texas. We drove down to Portland Monday afternoon and got to spend the rest of the day with her. We hung out in her backyard for quite some time and then she took us to the nickle arcade. It was awesome. Portland has a lot of unique places to eat and so I got a prickly pear cactus burrito and can't wait for my second. It was delicious! I forgot my camera.... I missed out on tons of good pictures. Then on Tuesday we went to a bunch of waterfalls just outside of the city. It was so awesome to see Montana and how happy she is. Its almost like Portland and Montana were meant to be!

Blessed

Everett was blessed today in church. It was so special and he did so good. It was Jake and I that cried. Luckily most of Jake's family lives near by and were able to come. Its hard to put in words how special babies are and even more diffucult to explain how you feel about your own. But Everett, we love you so much it brings us to tears.

Kite Runner

Flying kites at the park. I mean, running kites at the park. Never know what fun a $1 kite can be!

Bainbridge Island

We went up to Seattle to catch the ferry to Bainbridge Island. And I know you are noticing the white and black sweaters that we are wearing on the 1st of July at noon. It was cold all day. Depressing. And then ate at the Crab Pot once we got back into Seattle. Other than seeing the oldest mummified man, that was pretty much our day.
