The Letter A

Everett came home from preschool with the letter A in his backpack.  I pointed to each picture and asked him what it was: Plane = Airplane (mumbling) = Avocado Peanuts = Almonds AppE = Apple Spy-Ree (spider) = Ant Ahhweegayder = Alligator (car noises) = Arrow Not bad, my little friend! Everett will have two different preschools this year. This is from his speech therapy preschool that he goes to for two hours on Wednesdays and then he starts another regular preschool next Tuesday. I'm pretty excited about it.

Buzz Cuts

Jake and Everett got haircuts this weekend... now I'm the only one without a buzz cut :)

Pre Tool

Everett had his first day of preschool today! I'm not the mom that cries on the first day of school. I'll probably be the mom who cries on the LAST day of school.  I've been dreaming of preschool for the last two and a half years. Easily.  Everett squeezes every last drop of energy I have every day wanting to play. Mostly cars and trains. So I'm happy to let him play and learn with other kids and teachers. He'll probably learn more that way anyways.  I love my little buddy so much. He has a very special place in my heart that no one/nothing could ever replace. He's so much like me. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not.  But man, is he CUTE!!

FHE Explosion

The rainstorm that came on Sunday brought some cooler temperatures with it. It's only been 100 the last few days and it's nice (I can't believe I just said that!). So last night (for FHE- whoop!) we went for a bike ride.   Breckie too :) There was like 50 kids on our road all on wheels.  Bikes everywhere.  Kids everywhere.  And a few ramps. It looks like there are twin boys around Everett's age a few houses down.  This Fall should be interesting. They were crazy and Everett was interested.  We got half way to the park before Everett ditched his bike and just starting running. The scooter took months to learn so I'm guessing the bike will take months too.  After an hour of fun we went back home and made dinner.  Strawberry slushy lemonade, salmon, red potatoes w/rosemary, and streamed broccoli.  I'm pretty sure when Jake blessed the food he said, 'please bless it to be tasty'  That...

Dumpy

Up until Sunday at 2 pm our weekend was dumpy.  Then it rained and it was awesome.  For an entire hour.  Good times.  Lets do it again sometime soon :)

#She'ssoawesome!

We're trying to teach Breckie how to be modest.  It's not working. Especially in church.  #haha, notreally

Where's Everett?!

Rice Cakes

I had this idea that if Breckie had such a hard time drinking a bottle that she'd love eating with a spoon.  We got through half an ounce and I'm pretty sure it just got smeared all over her face.  And hands and knees.  It was a bad idea.  I don't think we'll being trying rice (or anything for that matter) for a while.

City Pool... Duck, Duck, Goose Egg

Everyone always told us July was the worst month to live here.  They were right.  It's pretty awful.  So on Saturday we bought a punch pass and went to the city pool. That's because our new house doesn't have a pool. Just a backyard full of rocks, actually. I've never been a huge fan of hanging out in public mostly-naked and swimming in the same water as a bunch of mostly-naked strangers... but I looked the pool up online and showed the pictures to Everett to see if he wanted to go.   And he said YEP! so we went.  Everett had a blast. And I felt amazing about it.  He played so good, was so brave going down the kid water slide, wanted to ride on a tube around the lazy river, and played and played and played on the splash pad for kids.  We put him in his life jacket/swimsuit get-up and it was a good thing. Anytime other kids ran into him they just bounced off! It was pretty funny.  And we ev...

So This Is Life

Right now I am buried under a huge pile of forwarded mail and a to do list that stretches on for miles. I seriously can't find the time or energy to even kind-of get anything done on top of regular things to do... actually I can't even get regular things done. I've had a pretty weird week. And it's only Wednesday. I've been dealing with chronic hip pain for a long time. Since we had a baby this calendar year and met our deductible I figured I'd try a second round of intense chiropractic therapy. I go three times a week and the appointments are 75 minutes. It's a huge commitment with two little ones. Luckily they play movies in the lobby so Everett is generally happy to go. I signed up for the gym so that I could have an hour or so everyday to myself.... instead of trying to workout with a crying baby and a little boy who would rather me do anything but work out. So that's nice but takes up a decent chunk of time. I've been working on ...

Rollin' On 4 Months

Brecklyn is a whopping 4 months old. And just as cute as ever.  The older she gets the cuter she gets... and the naughtier she gets too.  Today was her check up and shots. She was NOT a fan of the shots.  She hated the shots so bad. Truthfully, she cried harder and longer and WAY more ridiculous than when she was born. The nurse was being slow though, so I don't blame her. (I don't blame the nurse either, I'd hate to give shots to babies... but speed it up a little!) This little baby is 13 pounds, 8 ounces (just about 50%), her head is exactly 50%, and her length was off the charts. Like over 110% which obviously isn't right so maybe I'll do my own measuring tomorrow.  Supposedly at birth she was 21 inches and then 19.25 at her 3 day appointment. Same thing with Everett. I scheduled the pediatric appointment for Everett's 3 year check up as well. I thought it would be a good idea. 95% of the ...
