Good Dinosaur

I love Jake and his love of movies. I really do.  He saw (several weeks ago) that The Good Dinosaur was coming out on Tuesday so he set a reminder on his phone to buy it the day it came out.  So he moved the TV outside and we watched it under the stars.  I seriously love him :)

Everett's Class Picture

We didn't buy school pictures for Everett (because I take "nice" pictures of him every 6 months) but we decided to buy the class picture since I obviously can't take that :)  It's the cutest, goofiest, no-teeth smile, I've ever seen him give. He seriously is the best and it's a treasure of a class picture in my opinion!

Learning How To Drive

I think Jake lost a bit of his identity when we sold his truck when Everett was about 10 months old. He's been talking  obsessing about getting a truck ever since then. About 6 months ago he was finally able to get a little Toyota Tacoma… just like the one he had before we were married.  Everett has been obsessed with it as well.  In December we rode in the back (drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music) while Jake drove us around the neighborhoods looking at lights. It was little boy magic for Everett. We ride in the back whenever we go to Freddy's too.  And whenever we're in the neighborhood, Jake will let Everett steer and shift. I'm pretty sure this truck will be a source for many of Everett's best childhood memories.

80's

Well, Summer-like weather is here and it's just going to get hotter! We went from several weeks in the 60's, to like two or three days in the 70's, and we've been in the 80's all week with more 80+ forecasted  temperatures for as long as I can see. I'm a little nervous! But we've been outside enjoying it as much as we possible can.  And sometimes we have to come inside so we don't melt!

Dirty

Everett came in right at dinnertime and was like "Mom, look! I crawled under Dad's truck!!"  He was so proud of his little boy achievement.

Little Diva

Breckie and I were shopping when she found a fuzzy, white chair and couldn't resist. She is the funniest little person to shop with ever! I actually really, really do love shopping with her. She's hilarious, she plays with everything, has the best comments like: "Ooooh, that's so beautiful mom!" and she doesn't ever ask for anything. If only she could rub off on her brother a little :)

Ice Cream Truck

One of Everett's dreams came true on Saturday :) About two months ago we had a Curious George book from the library about an ice cream truck and Everett has been waiting and waiting and waiting for the ice cream truck ever since then. He was outside riding his bike when it came around on Saturday so I made him run upstairs and get his own dollars (because I'm a good mom :) and we chased it down the street.  He was so happy and can't wait to do more "jobs" so he can have money for the ice cream truck all Summer. That's a mom win for sure!

Valentines Day Celebrations

Jake got back from his campout just in time to take me out for sushi happy hour, walk around the temple grounds, and take me to Dairy Queen.  We gave the kids their valentine gifts Sunday afternoon. Breckie made Jake a card and we gave him Reeses hearts, and they gave me a big box of my favorite chocolates and a super cute card.  It turned out to be a super fun weekend and we hardly had time to miss Jake... even though I complained (incessantly) about the campout before it even happened!

Valentines Donuts- Good Laugh

Rhett came home with us Friday after school. The boys dug through their treasures and Rhett shared a ton of his candy with Breckie. Julia brought us Valentine donuts when she came to pick up Rhett because she knew Jake was gone on the campout.  I don't deserve her.  I purposely made a dinner I knew the kids would eat so that they could have a donut.  I wanted to get a picture to send to Julia of them enjoying her treat... and it turned out to be way too perfect and hilarious. 4 pictures later I decided they could finally start eating them :) Breckie had barely taken a bite or two when she realized Everett was done!… and eyeing her donut... …so she scooted it over so he wouldn't eat it... His next best option was to tickle her into letting him eat it. These pictures are gold to me! Thanks Julia for the good memory :)

Old Brick House- Downtown Mesa

Friday was a good day! (hurray, hurray!!)  When we very first moved to AZ we were invited to the Gleave's house for dinner. I had grown up/spent my Summers on the same block as Nate in Eagar and now he was married with a family and living in Mesa. Their house was ridiculously adorable and perfect in every way. Turns out his wife (Kalli) has several really amazing talents… About a month later she had a baby and then we moved 45 minutes in the opposite direction. In the meantime she opened a vintage market in downtown Mesa, right on Main.  Dreamy. Her shop is only open three days a month and we finally had our golden opportunity on Friday while Everett was at school.  I pretty much wanted everything. We were there for hours. Kalli even remembered us after I introduced myself (lol, she asked where all of my hair went :) We found a cool driveway/alley and took a few impromptu pictures of Breckie. Maybe we'll go back for her 3 year pictures n...
