A Touch Of Tyrell

Today we found out that the kids will not be going back to school for the duration of their school year. It was a gradual process, for which I am very grateful.  First, Spring Break was extended one week. Then an additional two weeks. Then cancelled altogether. During the first week of additional Spring Break, Breckie's teacher sent out optional work and Everett's teacher encouraged reading. For the two week extension they planned on starting online learning. Today was the first day of that (and we also found out it will be continued the rest of the school year).  Everett was quick to get his school work done. We packed lunches and ate outside.  That was probably the highlight of the day. It was great weather outside and ironically the neighbors came out at the same time so we ended up playing in the grass for a little bit.  Breckie had been complaining about headaches all morning and was pretty lethargic the day before. The kids were on Spring Break for the first two weeks of "Coronavirus". We had 7 guests the first week but I didn't manage to take any pictures. Well, I took this one, but it doesn't prove they were here :) After they left, we played with friends. It was a little rainy with cooler weather while they were here. It reminded me of real Spring weather... hot one minute and then shivering the next 😂 Before the "major quarantine" we were able to get our oil changed, eat Bahama Bucks & bring Jake lunch one day. While I was getting out of the car to bring Jake his lunch, somehow I slammed my thumb shut in the car door. I had to re-open the door to get my thumb out 😢 It hurt SUPER bad but I could still move it. The kids and I went to the park, Everett and I played basketball... it hurt really bad but it was still somewhat functional. Jake and I were able to hike Flatiron one afternoon in the Superstition Mountains.  It was just what we needed.  We could not believe how green and beautiful it was!  This was Jake's first time hiking Flatiron. I was really excited for him to see how pretty it as at the top... and how cool it was on the way up.  There is one place (I think it's called Siphon Draw) where the mountain/rock is all smooth. It's really cool to see in real life.  We made it to the top and it was fun to try and find the direction our house would be (we can see the mountain from our bedroom window!).  The views are absolutely incredible. The sun started to get low, so we headed down.  Jake is always super prepared. He brought headlights just in case.  It's a good thing Jake is always prepared, because we totally had to use the headlights. It was such a fun experience...

Here's our cute girl at SEVEN! I always let her pose herself and do her own thing and it's always cute.   Breckie is social but timid. Crazy bossy and possessive at the moment.  Cheese hater, lettuce despiser, bacon lover.  Sneaky, sweet, messy & thoughtful.  Her favorite thing is her little stuffed Bear (named Jingle) that Ms. Gray gave her for Christmas.  She continues to be crafty and creative. She is slowly learning how to read and write and majorly lacks confidence in those areas.  She is a great sister & daughter! She is so loving and totally hilarious.  We love you Breckie!! and your adorable, toothy smile!
