Birthday In The Car

There's nothing better than spending your birthday in the car.  Just kidding! Actually, that would be one of the worst options for me but Jake is pretty chill about birthdays.  For Jake's birthday we spent the day on the road; driving to Colorado for some Winter fun.  We stopped for food in Payson and Breckie would hardly eat. We even bought her mint ice cream to encourage her to eat because she was looking a little pale.  The drive was pretty with some leftover snow on the red rocks. The drive to CO is so blasted long but there's just not a better option.  Roxy was pretty antsy a fair share of the drive (which I TOTALLY GET! because I hate road trips too). Breckie had puked only a few miles after lunch. No wonder she was so pale. She puked again about an hour from our final destination. This time it got all over my leg. #iloveroadtrips But we made it safely and it even started to snow a little towards the end of the trip. It...

Roxy Rue

I mentioned before that deciding to go to Colorado was so very last minute. We didn't even have time to wait for Amazon's 2-day shipping (and if I had it shipped to CO it's too rural and wouldn't get there until the last day we were there).. so Roxy and I went to a used kids clothing store to look for snow gear.  Roxy is nuts. She's also obsessed with baby things... so I turn my back for two seconds and she's trying out all of the baby seats. I even found her in a basinet and baby swing.  But I did find her a brand new, cute and her size snow outfit for only $18. It was $54 on Amazon so it was worth the hassle. I also got Everett snow pants and Breckie snow pants and snow boots.

The Last Day

Jake and I have been going back and forth for forever on whether or not we should take the kids to Colorado for a week after Christmas. We were planning on making the trip and then I decided I was just too tired. Too tired of the rat race we've been living since mid October.  We have literally been going full-speed-ahead for months and I was ready to do NOTHING. Plus my Dad has had a surgery scheduled for a few months for his neck and I felt weird and guilty about leaving town for that.  But the kids were only on break for one more week and they really, really wanted to go to Colorado.  When I talked to my Dad last week I told him my predicament about leaving town during his surgery.  He reassured me that Kelly was going to take him to the hospital and take him home from the surgery a few days later. He told me about how he's always gone home a day early after his previous surgeries (two hip surgeries, back surgery a few years ago, and a few other nose/t...

No naps

Life with Roxy is pretty fun. She's a really sweet little girl! We are always playing with babies and watching movies. Occasionally she'll fall asleep watching a movie. She's been fighting naps here and there but it's obvious she still need them!

Clappers

Roxy calls gloves "clappers" and it's the most adorable thing ever. (She also calls cotton balls "fluffies")  One morning she put on her at and clappers to go outside and play. Of course she didn't need them, but we had fun playing on the trampoline together.! I never want to forget all the fun we have. I love taking pictures because it helps me to remember certain moments. I've spent so much time capturing moments for other families that I sometimes forget to document my own life.  But Jake and our kids are my priority so I'll never stop! Breckie and Roxy are slowly building their sister-bond and I couldn't be more grateful. My sister was a HUGE part of my childhood and I'd love if these two have each other like I had my sister.  And lucky for us, our only real neighbor (we don't have any houses in front, behind or to one side of us) have SIX kids and 4 of them are girls. Breckie has been in Heaven playi...

Christmas Card Picture

I feel like I never remember to post our Christmas card pictures because I want to keep them a secret until we send out our cards... and then I end up forgetting to share them! Of course I'm completely in love with them and my family :)

Christmas 2018

Christmas Eve we said goodbye to Kelly the Elf. We found her in some funny spots and doing naughty things this year! We had to get a family picture the Sunday before Christmas. We are having some crazy success with the self timer 🙌🙌🙌 And Roxy is really, truly this pale! She has her own skin color for sure! Christmas morning we found that Santa had come during the night. It's always so magical! We had our ham and cheese omelets with hot chocolate... it's one of our only traditions. Especially because we didn't decorate Jake's office this year.  Can you believe these three lasted through breakfast AND a picture before ripping into their presents! They are the best :) I couldn't love these three any more! Everett opened his gift from Santa first. He was too excited and hoping Santa left him a Nintendo Switch. He's a lucky kid. Good thing he was on the good list! Roxy got some Pa...

Looks Like Fall

You know, it's just Christmas Eve but it looks like October. It hurts my brain, and my heart but we're planning a trip to Colorado so we can have a week of winter.  But, for now, we will Enjoy Fall.
