Growing

Breckie is our princess. All things girly. She's not ridiculously overboard but it comes to her naturally.  Recently it's been lotion. She likes the soft skin :) I'm always finding her girly treasures all over the house.  Purses, suitcases, sparkly things, money, rings, beads, stuffed animals, and her favorite "froggy blanket" follow her everywhere.  She's been eating multiple times an hour and last week took TWO voluntary naps... probably a growth spurt. I secretly don't want her to grow up. I'll probably cry when she goes to kindergarten. Good thing I have another year!

Eyebrows

Jake has passed down his eyebrows to our daughters :)

Cool Kids

Breckie handed me this egg and asked me to open it.  She said she made me spaghetti and meatballs! Our kids are so cool. I adore them and their minds and creativity and the way they think.

One-on-one

Jake took Everett and Breckie camping with some friends over the weekend. It was a Dad & kids kind-of a camping trip. So Roxy and I hung out and shopped and made a cool project and even went on a hike.  I LOVED (SO MUCH) that it was just Roxy and I. It was the best and I wish we could have done it long ago. It's like I fell in love with her. She loved it too. She had all of my attention all of the time.  The hike itself was like a half happy ish and the other half she cried and I ended up carrying her and all of our stuff kind-of hike. But her cheesy face pictures were enough to deal with her wiggly whining.  All I know is that I need more one-on-one dates with my kids!

Super Hero Fashionista

Just had to document that Breckie wore her "Captain America" skirt and her "Flash" pants to church today. Also one braid fell out so she had one braid, one half wavy hair.  Oh, and a heart sticker on her ankle. 👌

More Proof He's My Kid

It's fun watching your kids grow. And it's painful and it hurts and it's funny sometimes. It's safe you say you feel all the feels.  The other day we were headed to the park (Everett on his bike ahead of us) and when Everett was about to pass his friends house (their garage was open and all 8 kids were hanging out w/their mom) Everett turns around and rides back to me and says, "I don't want to ride past their house because they're going to see me and say hi and then I'll have to say hi back..." As if I didn't need anymore proof he was my son! Then this option story had me smiling: I'm glad he feels strongly about keeping the caps on the markers! His opinion about the best way to spend $100 must have been heavily influenced by his table mates or something. "What will you buy if you had $100 dollars. I think I will get a Lego and 1 dog because they are fluffy and playful dogs. Remember to buy a cat" ...

Roxy Rooski 11

This picture is mom gold 👌 My "mom wish" would be to be able to spend the first year with every kid like you were able to spend with your first kid.  Roxy is so hard. And crazy and active and insane and all over the place and NEEEEEEEDS me (unless we have company and then of course she's amazing so no one believes me)... and I really wish I could magically be available to her like I was to Everett when he was a baby.  But I can't and life goes on and I try my best.  It's hard getting a picture of a baby... you mostly get pretty pictures of them crawling away. So I gave her a couple chocolate chips to keep her still ish.  She eats: chocolate chips frozen gogurt frozen peas yogurt canned green beans macaroni and cheese the end.  She has slept through the night less than 10 times so we decided to just turn off the monitor and wear earplugs... before we know it she'll be two and still need a bottle in ...

Breckie's Everyday Tips

Breckie's fashion tip #1: Try putting on a skirt... under your leotard skirt.  Modeling tip #1: After you tilt your head and give a cute look ALWAY follow with the stare-glare-stink-eye face. Follow these tips and you will get countless compliments and people won't be able to stop smiling/looking at you. Guaranteed.

Easter

Easter is quickly becoming my favorite holiday. It seems to be the most simple to celebrate yet the most profound and important.  At church I tried to teach my class of 7 four-year-olds about the real Easter story... at least by the end of class they knew Easter was about more than just Easter egg hunts :) It takes a while before the true importance of a holiday like Christmas and Easter becomes more important than the traditions... although the traditions are super fun and we definitely had our fun with the Easter bunny 😉 Breckie is QUEEN of putting lots of little things into bags/purses/containers/jars... so stuffing the Easter eggs may have been the highlight for her! She had cups and bowls and baskets all over the place.  We dyed eggs on Saturday with Everett and Breckie. It was actually quite enjoyable with only happy moments... after we had to explain we weren't "die"-ing the eggs!  After church Jake and I took turns cooking our...
