US Airway Flight 75

My Dad is here!!! We took him to our favorite restaurant the first night. Thank you for bringing him safely here Flight 75!

It really only takes one push

Everyone has heard a crazy statistic about something weird at least once in their lives, but lately I have been wondering this: How many times (on average) does a person hit the cross walk button before the white man starts flashing? From personal experience, I would say about 7. I say 7 because you get to the button, press it about 3 times just to make sure it gets pressed. Then after about 25 seconds you press it 3 more times because the first 3 times must not have worked. About 10 seconds later you give it a long hard push and presto, the white man starts flashing. So we all know that it takes more than 1 push right? Well, in the office I sit in the CORNER with the CORNER window that over looks the stop light that's only purpose is to turn red when a pedestrian wants to cross. So this punk teenage girl walks by today and just presses the button and keeps walking in the same directions without any intentions of actually crossing the crosswalk. So with her 1 push the white ma...

1 Yeah Baby 2 Honks and 3 Scriptures

I am high on life my friends.....I came home and decided there was no better way to spend my hour than to be out running. I usually get a few Hey Baby's or a whistle or two...but tonight it was a "Yeah Baby" and then 2 honks from another driver. As white trash as it sounds, it made me feel pretty good! It only got better while running on back roads with no traffic, the smell of apples fallen from the tree, smashed against the unforgiving pavement, and the old man trying to figure out how to ride his bike again. It was nice to have the only sounds be of my breath and nature. By the time I arrived back to my 808 home, I had only a few minutes left to get ready for young womens . We had planned to learn how to make ice cream and have a scripture chase (while the ice cream was churning). The scripture chase brought me back to the good old days when I woke up at 5:30 and always (no matter how hard I tried because breakfast was more important) was late to seminary . Tonight I w...

Day 2

Day 2 was just like day 1. Relaxing in the SUN. Took a ride on the wave runners which were a blast and came in handy for firewood and ice runs. The only one with enough "man parts" to go cliff jumping. He smacked his thumb pretty hard on the rock and it is still black from the bruises Spread Eagle... I love that picture And here is to you Mr. Outhouse. Thank you for being there, but no thanks. Everytime I came to visit you I felt as though my bladder emptied but my tummy filled with vomit....you stink.

Oh the Adventures

We woke up super early ( 3 a.m.) Thursday morning and drove the 5 hours to Lake Roosevelt...which is beautiful. We have incredible friends that plan vacations and then invite us along. They had already been there a couple days and had everything all ready for us. We camped at a boat-in only beach and had a blast. This is me in Michelle's swimsuit because I forgot the bag with all of my swimming attire...all of it. So for the last 3 days I had on borrowed (miss-match) swim wear! Thank you Michelle! But at least my bum crack wasn't left for everyone to see I'll put more pictures up tomorrow but this was basically the end of day 1 . The stars were beautiful and so clear, I wish you could have seen them. I haven't seen stars that clear since the last time Jake and I flew to Colorado. It was such a beautiful night and reminded me of camping with you, Dad. Then some psycho lightning/thunder/rain storm came and scared the poo out of us. Why it was psycho: #1 it was a st...

So Long

This is what summer looks like sometimes in the great state of (western) Washington. So we are escaping for the weekend to eastern washington where the looks and weather are a lot like Utah (where real summer happens). We will be gone for a while...but great picture will await you with our return!

Playing with the Sun

I love how I look like I have boots on (or maybe I just have kankles)

Is it weird?

Is it weird that as I was standing in the bank today that "sexual healing" came on the radio? Is it weird that my belly button is not centered? Is it weird that my hands are as big as my husbands? Is it weird that one of my ears is lower than the other? Is it weird that I saw my Dad's girlfriend for the first time...over facebook ? Is it weird that old people used to call me Wyoming just because my sister's name is Montana? Is it weird that I was named after a cow BOY? Is it weird that I like to have a new bedspread every six months (from Ross of course)? Is it weird that my 13 year old sister is 4 inches taller than me? Is it weird that I have a fish named netquote ? Is it weird that the word weird is starting to look weird ?

Yoga Booty Ballet

Yesterday I went downtown again for the saturday farmers market and for the sidewalk antique sale and who knew you could find Yoga Booty Ballet in an antigue store. Both the lady at the check out and I thought it was so funny, but I couldn't pass up the deal for $2 I didn't have the chance to work out to my new DVD's because (after mowing the lawn) we went to a Brian and Heather's wedding reception. It was so nice out and we were lucky it didn't rain.

Who mows the lawn?

I do! Jake gets mad because we have a push mower, I like it. But one thing Jake does do is lock us out of our house at 9:10 p.m. on a Friday night. We went to check the mail in case we had a new netflix movie. He grabbed the mail key and not the house keys too. I was so mad. It was one of those things that is only funny two weeks after the incident, but I was mad. It took us two hours to break into the tiny bathroom window..... So you know that croquet set we bought last weekend, well that was out ticket back into our house. I won't tell you how we did it, but it took 2 hours. We were happy to get back in.

Tips for your Trip

Hey Dad, I am beyond my happiness limits just knowing that you will be here in 2 weeks! I know that you are a little uneasy about the whole flying thing....but I have some tips. 1. Arrive to the airport 15 minutes before your scheduled flight 2. Eat lots of fiber filled fiber food and drink A LOT of water so you will have the pleasure of using an airplane bathroom. (I have not had this pleasure personally due to the fact that I would rather hold it) 3. Don't forget to ask the 90 year old stewardess lady for 2 nds on peanuts and soda. She will be so happy to do anything for you. (oh, and I hope you have an aisle seat so she can smash you with her cart) 4. Wear a lot of jewelry , a belt, and your pocket watch. The more metal the merrier . 5. MAKE SURE your luggage is heavier than 50 pounds so they can give you grief and charge you 100 more dollars. And your carry-on should contain all of your shampoos and lotions...they won't make you throw them away...I promise. 6. Put all...

2 Things Funny

#1 Jake and I work together. He is an American Family Insurance Agent and I am his assistant. We have a customer who is always past due, so I dutifully call her and convince her to pay. Yesterday, I had to leave the office early... so Jake was taking her payment and the fact that we are husband and wife came up. She had no idea, and then says: "So if you get a CHUBBY for your secretary it's okay!" I would have died if I was there! ~enough said #2 Our employee Jason is really into boats. He was talking about the new mastercraft something or other that has 451 horse power and how awesome it would be..... So I say (jokingly) "How can a boat have horse power if horses can't run on water" well the conversation died a little and then my most amazing & FUNNY husband shouts from his office "Its seahorse power babe." I love him!

What I didn't know all along

We have a beautiful flower garden along the edges of our lawn (at the house we rent). We have only lived here since June, so I had a few questions for the landlord (who left ZERO directions on how to care for them). I met her at the house today and she went over a few specifics. Apparently we have Rosemary, Thyme, Potatoes, Asparagus, blueberries, and beer hops growing in our yard. We have a peach tree (which I already knew about) and a pear tree (which I didn't know about) too. She gave me permission to plant anything else in the vacant space and to dig up anything I don't want. She is pretty cool. She taught me that when the roses on the bush die, you are supposed to cut them off right above the 5 leaf... leaf. I didn't know that. After she left I started cutting the dead rose buds off and found this little guy. It was a really nice temperatured day out and thought I would do something that I have always wanted to do: go antique shopping in downtown Puyallup . I went in...

3 years ago today

3 years ago today a young man's dream came true. He married the most fantastic girl in all of the land! 3 years ago today I had on the most uncomfortable shoes ever. 3 years ago today my aunt, uncle, and Nanny were surprise guests at our wedding. 3 years ago today I didn't even care what I looked like because I knew that Jake would always love me for how I looked no matter what. 3 years ago today Jake became mine, and I became his for eternity. 3 years ago today we stopped by Taco Bell as our first married meal. 3 years ago today our families gathered to celebrate our marriage...by having at BBQ at a park, and then playing soccer afterwards. 3 years ago today my new sister and brother-in-law plotted together to create a massive cupcake fight between the new bride and groom. (with rainbow chip cupcakes) (it got a lot worse than this) 3 years ago today my dreams came true. So today we celebrate our love for each other . I had...

My weekend Warrior

We had a crafty Tyrell weekend. I LOVE these weekends. This is what it looked like: Dinner at Dukes on the water in Downtown Tacoma to celebrate 3 years of marriage Finding a ridiculously good (orange) deal at the Goodwill and buying it for $22. I know what you are thinking, why would you buy a chair straight out of the 70's for your house. I liked it. Incorporating the orange chair into your already blue bedroom...blue pillow on orange chair, and an orange button sown onto the blue pillow on the bed. Then painting some "racing stripes" on the dresser. I think it looks great and brings more color into our home. Plus, the orange chair reminds me of both my dad (who is coming to visit me in 2 1/2 weeks) and my Papa. Picking these flowers out of the garden to match I love the orange chair. Then we bought this old school croquet set at a garage sale for $5. I sense some backyard parties in the near future! On Monday this past week I went to "grandma's" garde...
