Stay Little Forever

One afternoon we played PlayDoh, stamps, and cookie cutters.  I can't get over Breckie's face! Everett cut a few hearts in half and said: "look, a half heart. That means it's sad!" One thing that doesn't make my heart sad is this: He did that all on his own and it was just so sweet. Sometimes I hope they stay this little forever and we can spend our days playing PlayDoh and stamps!

Funniest Night

Popsicles + jumping on the trampoline before dinner = funniest night.  The last picture just about killed me!!

Guys Trip 2015

I can't believe this almost went un-blogged!.. Jake took a dunes/guys trip a few weeks ago and had a blast. He and Kevin headed to Vegas to meet up with two friends from Utah. It sounds like the weekend was full of riding, sun, junk food, pizza, soda, riding, sun, junk food, and driving home. That pretty much sums up a perfect guys trip :) I completely support Jakes 'need for speed' and guys trips like these. Besides all of the other good stuff in Jake's life, this is the kind of stuff he lives for! But poor Everett. 4 days of Dad being away is pretty tough. He can't wait until he's old enough to go on guy's trips too.  He told me he was going to sit there and wait until Dad came home.  As soon as Jake got home we ate all of his left over candy and junk food and then Everett was as happy as a little boy could be. :)

Trampoline? Trampoline?

We got the kids a trampoline for Valentines Day. I wanted to get it for Breckie's birthday (since she was literally asking for one multiple times a day). She would look me in the eyes and say: "Trampoline? Trampoline?" and then when she chipped her tooth by using her crib as a trampoline we decided we better just get one and Valentines Day was the closest holiday.  We've had a lot of fun on it and we're so glad we finally got one. Jake and Everett slept out there the other night and we've spend several afternoons jumping on it with the sprinkles under.  And it's always a good idea to invite friends over to jump with you!

Joe's Farm Grill

Ever since visiting Tayne and Lucy in Portland Summer of 2011, I love good food. I really, really love good food. I mean, I loved it before but that was when food was something to eat. But Portland has this thing with food… they just make it amazing and make it an experience not to be forgotten.  Living too far from Portland and in a land of chain restaurants and mediocre-to-poor restaurant food, food is and little less experiency and more just something to eat.  This probably means that I should become a phenomenal cook because I love good food so much… but I'm not. I can follow a recipe but that doesn't make me or my food anything special.  After Breckie was born we discovered Pita Jungle. Super good, delicious healthy food. Last October we went to the Olive Mill for the first time and loved it. Then on Thursday we went to Joe's Farm Grill.  I feel like we are finally starting to find where the real food is served! I had the Thai Ahi salad (w...

Strength Beyond Me

Miscarriage wise, I am doing great. Just putting it out there.  But I have been thinking a lot about what women (and families… but especially women) go through to have babies. I'm not going to spell it all out, because I can't. I haven't experienced even a fraction of what other women have experienced but I know enough to know that childbearing can make you're heart burst at the seams and be so full it almost hurts and it can also shatter your heart and dreams and leave you so empty you feel like you will never be whole again.  And that, of course, is only if you've been able to conceive. Knowing that some women go years and years (or a lifetime) without being able to have a baby is beyond me.  Why is it that we're willing to go through torture to have children?? Sometimes it's the only choice.  Late last night I checked my Facebook because I couldn't sleep. Here are literally the very first three things that I saw (all friends whom...

Brenner Pass

I love when things work out just right (like last, and hopefully this Saturday) and I'm able to go for a ride (mountain or road) first thing in the morning. It's really one of my favorite things in all the world.  Brenner Pass is the very first ride I ever went on. It's about a 15 mile loop where I can leave right from my house, ride out the the mountains, and ride home. There is hardly any traffic and this time of year AZ is pure bliss.  Things are blooming and it smells incredible and the temperature is perfect…. although it is warming up. The road is a little rough but that just means you have to pedal extra hard and get an extra good workout. By the time I get home everything is great. I'm always on some endorphin high and nothing could be better! My fingers are crossed that I'll be able to ride this weekend. I'd love to join and group or a team but it's just not that time in my life yet where I can devote more time to my hobbi...

Puppy Love

We heard Dillards was having a big sale, and Jake desperately needed new work clothes, so Breckie and I went to go check it out (hmmm… about 3 weeks ago) after dropping Everett off at preschool.  First we checked the little girls section because Breckie was in major need of new clothes. We didn't find any clothes but Breckie found these sparkly dog purse things and drug/dragged two of them alllllll around the store.  Everyone thought it was adorable and by the end of the shopping trip I was obligated to buy her one… because she wasn't leaving without them. So now we have a cute little girl who LOVES her purple puppy purse (and it's actually really cute to see her attachment to it!).

Breckie's Birthday Wishes

Breckie's birthday was a lot of fun… until we got kicked out of the restaurant :) Everett had school and we were asked to pick up our neighbor friend so she ended up just coming over to play from 10 'til 2!  We made Breckie's cake and frosting and the kids were in heaven once I just handed them spoons so they could eat the frosting. That evening I had planned to eat dinner at the Olive Mill and just sit at one of the picnic tables outside and eat/open presents/cake etc… but realized the day before (while I was taking her pictures there) that Monday-Thursday they close at 5.  But that day before I was there taking pictures until 5:45 and it seemed totally fine. Nobody said anything so I thought as long as we were outside and not bothering anyone that it would still be fine.  So the Millers met us there at 4:30.  And we ate delicious food and had a good time.  We were just about to do cake and presents when they kicked ...
