Home

We've been here about 10 days and we're in love. We feel like we're on vacation with views like this...  and activities like this.... and a toddler that looks like this... (I swear he's a boy....) We hardly make laundry because Everett doesn't wear clothes... We love it here. We've been pretty lucky though. We ended up in a nice house close to everything we could want. It seriously takes 2 minutes to get to the grocery store, we can ride our bikes to the city park/pool, there are restaurants on pretty much every major street corner, and shopping is a dream come true.  The very first night we were in AZ we went to Panda Express for dinner. This was my "fortune": And oddly enough, it came true on Sunday. My old summer neighbor/friend/babysitter walked up to me after church said hi and said she saw us walk in. CRAZY! We grew up about 4.5 hours away from here. We were both so excited....

Tyrell And The GIANT Peach... Weeks 1-12

Friday night I had a dream that I gave birth to our child... a boy... weighing 11 lbs!!!! I also dreamt that my brother and I were trying to get a post office box for my dad and it was going to cost $8,000 a year. And then we had a dance party in the post office.  I've had the most absurd dreams this past week. On Wednesday, Jake and Everett came with me to my first dr. visit. I was really hoping that the dr. would say that I was much farther along then I am because I feel like a boat already. But he pronounced me 11 weeks, 2 days... which was exactly my assumption. Here is the little thing: We heard the heartbeat and even saw it dance a little. It was very reassuring that feeling like poo hasn't been in vain... and that I am indeed growing another human. I am one of the lucky pregnant ladies that doesn't ever actually throw up... but I just feel like I'm going to all day. It was the worst at 6 weeks but by 9 weeks I was feeling better. Then, ...

How We Got Here

Oh man, where to begin. Sometimes it's just better to rip the bandaid off and get it over with. Back in March, when our kitchen was a nice mix of discussing and unusable, I told Jake that I wanted to move. He looked at me a little weird and then I said... "well, I don't want to move to a different house, I want to move move... like away from here. I want to move back to Utah or something." The great thing about our marriage is that we can say things like this to each other. He asked me if I was being serious and I said YES! Then he told me about some of the things he'd already been looking into and that moving to Utah was a possibility. We talked about all of the great things ahead of us... all while working on the kitchen. The next day I told Jake that I'd changed my mind... I wanted to move to Arizona instead. I love Utah with all of my heart but I just felt that it wasn't the place for us. Jake and I have the best memories there but we needed...

Colorado Vacation

Well, our trip to Colorado was a long one. In a good way. We haven't been to Colorado since Ev was 10 months old... so we went for Wesley's wedding and stayed a whole bunch of extra days for good measure. Of course we had fun. Here are the highlights.  We said goodbye to our Washington family and got on a plane and flew to Denver.... then boarded the smallest airplane of my life (like two seats on one side of the aisle and one on the other.... the "overhead compartment" was big enough for maybe a sandwich) and flew to Durango. Everett did really good. I'd been dreading it for months and it wasn't too bad. My family picked us up as soon as our midnight plane landed.  The next day Montana and Lucy flew in and we all played a few hilarious rounds of badminton.   Everett had fun playing with his cousin... who LOVES hugs and pushing and tackling (all in the name of love) but Everett doesn't even like to be touched...  That night...
