A Touch Of Tyrell

Spring Break was two full weeks + the weekends.  It was a busy Spring Break.  *Note the "Elsa braid!" We played outside, played with water, played badminton, and we brought the older two Smith kids with us mini golfing. I taught them the brilliant (and very dishonest) way of not golfing hole 18 and doing another course. They did all 3 courses. We were there for 3 hours!  We had a couple hole-in-ones that made the day even better! That was just Monday-Wednesady of the first week...  

Everytime Jake goes out riding I tell him he has to take pictures.  He's been very diligent in taking pictures... and taking trips!!  

Jake hiked Camelback with the Young Men one morning. I was a little jealous... except they did a sunrise hike and woke up at 4:30 😴 He said it was really fun, a little challenging but the views were amazing.  I really need to do it one of these Winters.  That evening Everett and I went on a mother-son date and went out to Frost. It's a REALLY good gelato place and we both got toasted marshmallow as one of our flavors! Like mother, like son.   

Roxy has had some fun stealing my phone and taking pictures... so then I made her take some with me! She is still a MAJOR fan of mac & cheese and once even helped me make it.  Breckie is constantly drawing and writing notes. I just think they are too cute... my treasure boxes are all getting stuffed! Roxy has been drawing too. Just people (with no bodies :) She drew her people on her Valentines cards... she also likes crafts and wants to buy one of everything when we go to a craft store.  I did let her get this wind chime though. She painted it and hung it in the playhouse outside.  Our girls are so fun and cute but also REALLY, REALLY messy!!!  

One day, while the Morris family was here, we went to the trail park.  Once, we took the kids, YEARS ago when we were coming home from an Edward Jones Regional meeting. But it was the end of June.  We lasted 7 minutes.  It was way too hot.  So this was basically our first time being there.  We played at the parks, rode the train, ate lots of ice cream and played some more.  The weather was ideal and it was such a fun memory to make as a family.  We had some some with Brianna, Michael, Haley & Porter while they were here.  Roxy has been asking where her friend with the brown hair is! And the whole family agrees that Breckie and Haley look more like sisters that Breckie and Roxy! Funny how genetics work!  

Last month, one of Jake's younger sisters and her family, came for a visit.  They were freezing in  Idaho and needed to warm up!  They were loving the 70 degree heat here.  One day they went to the zoo and Jake & Roxy tagged along.  Roxy and Haley were big-time buddies! *Roxy sitting on Elephant "poop" They had a fun time and totally wiped out the kids.  And they even got to ride the camels!! It was Jake's first time to the zoo, too!  I've been more than a dozen times so I thought I'd let him go this time.   

I've spent plenty of time reading parenting, self-help, marriage and other relationship books and have plenty of knowledge that we are all unique... But it's so fun so see the differences in two kids, same age, same preschool, but different gender doing the same activity.  *Hunter vs. Roxy I am also fascinated at the differences in my own kids... just further proof that we are all uniquely us!
