Front Door

Jake and I are both going through a major "nesting" phase right now. We have gotten rid of SO much stuff, cleaned out so many closets (and our garage) and it feels so good. Like weight lifted off our shoulders! We've also been trying so so so hard to finish up all of our projects... because it just puts my mind at ease to not have anything "to do" when our baby comes.  So in cleaning out the garage we found our front door paint from our house in WA so I used it to update our front door:  It looks WAY super good now and matches the rest of our black screen-covered windows on the front of our house.  We've finished a dozen other projects but I just need to take pictures of them... more low quality iPhone pictures coming your way :)

No Sleep For Days

Last week both of my parents came for visits. And I totally failed to take any pictures worth anything.  Not only did I not take pictures, but I didn't sleep either.  My insomnia is one step away from making me crazy.  I don't know why sometimes I just can't sleep even when I wear ear plugs, an eye mask, sleep in a totally dark room, AND take sleeping pills. But by the time each parent had visited and left, I got super sick for 2 days. Luckily it was the weekend so Jake was home.  And while they were each visiting Breckie refused to go to bed at night so she zonked out anytime we went anywhere and was kind-of a punk... but apparently that's just her new normal self.

Polished

She's getting pretty good!

Preschool Storytime

We've been going to toddler story time for almost the whole school year and now that Breckie is 3, we tried out the older age group.  We each met a new friend. And it's a good thing because Breckie is in DESPERATE need of little girls to play with!  In fact, we got invited to Hannah's house for a play date last week and the two of them played princesses and jewelry and danced to Disney music on Pandora for two hours.  I 100% regret not getting a picture of them all dressed up in their princess outfits but I have a feeling we'll be playing with them again soon! And seeing her participate in story time like this makes me want to get her in a dance class! I've been planning of putting her in dance and gymnastics next year instead of preschool anyways. I should probably get it figured out soon. #putitonmytab

Bloody-knees Trail

Jake was helping Jake (Miller) with a home project Saturday morning so I joined Julia and her friend on a "hike".  I knew before we even started that it'd be murderously disastrous, but sometimes as a mom, you just have to do the dirty jobs.  About a third of the way through the trail Breckie fell for the first time. It was the first of SEVEN times!!! And each of the 6 kids needed a stick... or two just to be happy. And snacks.  We managed to get two-thirds of the way through the trail before Everett tripped and fell and scraped up both knees pretty bad. We all felt pretty bad for him because he was a bloody mess.  When we completed the loop, we went to see the desert creatures. Yuck.  The kids were in poor spirits from falling so much, so I took them to QT to pick out a slushy and a snack. "Q-tip" can fix just about anything! They were smiling before we even walked in the doors!  Really though, I'm actu...

Not One Fish

Everett enjoys fishing even though he's never even caught a fish... or been with us when we have. Hopefully someday soon he catches one!  A flier got sent home about a free fishing event for kids so Jake took them last Saturday.  Both kids had fun even though the only thing they caught was each others line. But theygot fish necklaces, hot dogs, chips, and a soda so it was a total win for them!

Company Picnic

Every April we go to the company picnic. This year they had all the fun stuff AND pony rides! Breckie was super happy she got to ride the little pony named Minnie.  And Everett was pretty stoked to be riding 'Rainbow Dash'. We got our family caricature portrait again this year. It makes me laugh! We all look so much older and more tired than last year!

A Little Wind

It's not windy here very often... which is actually super nice... so when it is windy we like to take advantage of it and fly kites.  On a particularly windy day, Jake actually got carried up into the air while flying his kite! He landed on his ankle wrong and had to be on crutches for a few day and then limped for 2 weeks with an ankle brace. But he's 90% back to normal and he's been watching the weather for another windy day!

Alphabet Arm

Everett wrote the alphabet in white crayon on the arm of our back porch chair while I was getting Easter egg stuff ready.  It cracks me up that he wrote the C and N backwards. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good!

Pregnancy And Me

I'm sure it's time for some sort of pregnancy update or something but it would probably just go like this: I hate being pregnant I can't even move I have heartburn Pregnancy rots my mind I'm a prisoner to pregnancy Just call me Captain Insomniac Clothes don't fit me anymore I'm sick again I've gained 20 pounds I'm literally going crazy I want my uterus to be birthed out with this baby I still have 5.5 weeks till I'm due I want to gag, cry, or sigh every time I look in the mirror I don't even take pictures because it's not fun anymore But since I don't really have anything nice to say... I should probably just not say anything.

Dunes Trip- Coral Pink

A week after we got back from San Diego, Jake left for his annual dunes/guy trip. This year they went to the Coral Pink sand dunes. It's right on the Arizona/Utah state line which was pretty convenient since Jake and Kevin came from AZ and Sean and Adam drove from Salt Lake.  They stayed in a cute little VRBO right in town.  It's always hard when Jake leaves and his timing lately has been so terrible! During Fall break he was in Kentucky and for Spring break he was on his dunes trip. It makes for extra LOOOOOONG days... especially when you're growing a baby! So I did give him a hard time. Especially because he works all of the time too. BUT I told him he had to: 1. wear sunscreen and  2. take pictures  Thankfully he did both. And he (obviously) had tons of fun. Jake is really lucky too... because we sold our quads last year but they brought an extra one just for him.  Even though I give him a hard time ...
