A Trip to the Mountains

Bridget graduated BYU on Thursday... but since graduation isn't in real life these days, my mom and I came to UT to celebrate. But I am SUPER lame and didn't gift her anything... it was more of a gift-trip to ME that she graduated 😁 #thanksbridget They picked me up from the airport and we headed to Park City... our destination for the next two nights. We settled in to our hotel and then ate at Slap Fish. It was delish! We perused Homegoods, bought treats at Whole Foods and then ended the night in the hot tub.  The next morning we headed to Midway. I'd never been to Park City, Midway or Heber so it was fun to see them for the first time. We checked out some local thrift stores and drove around the towns a bit.  Midway is super charming and I didn't want to leave.   I mean, who would want to leave a town that has Swiss names like Zermatt and Interlaken... the two places we stayed on our trip to Switzerland summer of 2019.  We stopped for an impromptu hike. It was a gr...

Barbie Love

Roxy + Barbie = LOVE Roxy plays Barbies more than anything else.  She is always eager to get to preschool first so she can get the Barbie station.  Two days in a row she came home with stolen Barbie things from the Barbie station 😅 She returned them. After some bribing.  There are always Barbie things in her bed, closet, bath... pretty much anywhere she's been.  It's really adorable to see how fond she is of Barbies and dolls.  She plays with her "American Girl" dolls sometimes too.  She is such a little creative girl! She's always using containers and crafty items to elevate her Barbie's lifestyle!  Like cutting up an old popcorn bag and using it for a blanket for her Barbie or filling up one of those shipping bubble things full of water and saying it's for her barbie's goldfish... or actually crushing up goldfish crackers and putting it in the dog food dispenser for Barbie's dogs! If you combine her two favorite loves (Barbies and mermaids) Roxy...

Frozen Jr. & Aladdin Jr. Plays

There is a performing arts center less than a mile away from our house #lucky There is usually something going on about once a month.  A few years ago we got to see the BYU dancers. They were incredible and I've been waiting for them to come back!!! David Archeletta performed there once. We saw the Nutcracker there last year... The girls and I got to see Frozen Jr. last month.  It was SUPER good. The young actors are SO talented. I thought it was the high school's drama club but it must be a group a little more legit than that. Not all of them are high schoolers.  The singing, dancing and acting are all AMAZING! We got light up wands for the girls and they had such a fun time.  We saw that Aladdin Jr. was the next month so we made plans to see that too.  It was just last night.  I recognized some of the actors from Frozen Jr. and I am seriously blown aways at such young talent.  All of the kids LOVED it and Everett expressed interest in being in a play...

Easter 2021

I have really slowed down taking pictures 😅 The town did a bunny hunt (which was super cute!) and Roxy got a basket of eggs for participating. The kids woke up on Easter morning to baskets filled with chocolates, play doh, candy... Breckie's basket was a bike basket! She was thrilled! The Easter bunny is so cool.  The kids were amazing and divided up their candy from their egg hunt equally.    Roxy ate all of hers within a week. That girl can eat some candy!! Everett ate his over time. Breckie still has candy.  Jake and Roxy fell asleep so Everett and Breckie were the only two dying eggs with me.  Everett was trying to be tough and serious... but he just couldn't do it 😆 Breckie made the Easter bunny a special egg... she's always so thoughtful. She is always making me, friends, teachers gifts and cards and notes of love. She is the sweetest (when she wants to be 😅)! Easter was great and we enjoyed the classic Easter dinner.  Ham, scalloped potatoes, aspa...

The Rest of Spring Break

After Breckie's baptism and lunch, Jake took the family out hiking. They came back with donuts! Roxy and Braxton took funny pictures... ... and on Monday Everett was able to tag along to a Spring training game.  All of our visitors were back home by Tuesday so we just hung out and I cleaned for two days.  We tried to make some green popcorn for St. Patricks day, but it was a flop. By Friday Breckie was having a make-up party day with her great friend Laylah.  I took them to Build-a-Bear because she's always wanted to go. Plus, it just seemed like a good time to go.  Breckie and Laylah made matching bears (complete with smells and everything). Roxy got a mermaid outfit for hers and Everett made light fury from How to Train Your Dragon.  Build-a-Bear is straight up robbery for parents.  So at least we can say we've gone now... cause I REALLY don't think we'll ever go again!!! But it as fun for the kids and a fun experience. After BAB I look the kids to Frost ...
