12:10 a.m.

Last night Jake wanted to play around with the camera. These are the pictures we ended up with Then Jake says "What else should I write" "What you think we should name our baby" I said no way. It is my cousins name and his Grandpa's. Then he takes this picture. It cracks me up. Jake wanted to show off his belly.

Trashy Treasures

I am making this into something. For the baby's room. Hopefully it will be done by Monday! P.S. You will never guess what it is! I Promise!

Grandma In Training

Outside Looking In

When I take a minute to step outside of my life and examine it, this is what I find: I can't/don't like to cook/bake without a recipe. Even if I have made it a million time, I still want a recipe I cut corners. Not all corners, just some. (especially when sewing.....I hate to iron things, so I don't) I am indecisive. I eat an entire box of Special K cereal in 4 mornings. I get prematurely excited for change. When we move, I start packing way in advance. I don't pretend to know things. I forget to drink water on the weekends. I am a fence sitter. I see the good and bad in everything and that makes it hard to take a side sometimes. I dislike watching movies twice. I think it is because I think it is a waste of my time...but I am not 100% sure. Maybe because it is because there is no surprise in watching it again. The grass is literally greener in Washington.....but the grass MUST still be greener in Utah/Arizona/Colorado. I am musically challenged. (So is Jake. Our kids a...

Blooming

It has been warm and beautiful these last few days. I spent some time in the backyard weeding and this is what I found. We had a big bucket sitting out there full of weeds, sticks, and yard waste. I saw some green on the side but I couldn't pick up the bucket because it had at least 20 pounds of Washington rain water in it, so I pulled it onto the grass and found this: I can't believe something was actually growing underneath it. Amazing. Hopefully they will straighten up and survive....

1st Date

For real. This was our first date. I love his hair and sideburns! And I love looking back and laughing!

Stephanie

I woke up this morning weighing a little less than the day before. Did I go the gym? No. I looked at old college photos. Hilarious. I laughed until it hurt. See: (Friday the 13th) Anyways, while my stay at BYU-I, I had the best roommate in the world. She is beautiful, hilarious, spunky, and spiritual. Living under the gray/snowy sky for too many months, early spring brought great adventures. Steph had remembered this really cool place up in the Teton Mountains and we though we should take a road trip. Early Saturday morning we packed lunches and headed for the mountains. Turn after turn we found ourselves on a snow-packed back road. Being brave, we pressed onward. (dumbest thing we could have done!) We ended up getting stuck in the snow. Stuck so bad. So bad the tires just spun...and spun. We got out of the car, assessed our situation.....and started the walk back to the nearest road. We made some jokes, laughed off our worries, made a short documentary, and backtracked our route. We h...

Brad Ash

Growing up in a small town was fun. Everyone knew everyone....and there sister. There was a boy in our high school with the name of Brad Ash. His name was used everyday in teenage slang. When something was cool enough to be "bad a$$" we would say, that's brad ash..... therefor getting the full effect of the phrase without a curse word ever leaving our mouth. This phrase has lasted far beyond high school and is now used in my home. When Jake revealed my homemade Valentines day gift, you can only guess what I said!

Features!

Jake was playing around with the camera last night. Aparently there is a feature that makes your boobs look as big as your face. This was my 26th week comparison shirt. I am not sure if it will last another two weeks!

My Love

We always make rediculous stipulations for gift giving. Valentines day had to be homemade. I made Jake heart-shaped brownies and a card. I made flowers last year. They still looked good!

V-day or B-day

Today is not only valentines day, it's also my Dad's birthday. My dad is a very special guy and it seems appropriate he was born on a special day. Dad, I love you a ton I love you a bunch I love you a million I love you this much.... O : : : : : : : : (That's me holding my arms out as wide as they go!)

Cravings

I didn't start having cravings until about 2 weeks ago. The first SUPER craving was for hamburger. I ate hamburger helper like crazy. (I usually don't like hamburger at all) Then my cravings became sweet. Orange slices, Raspberry Zingers, old fashioned donuts, sugar cookies..... Today my sweet husband walks out the door (at work) and asks if anyone needs anything. "Raspberry Zingers" "Do you want those for Valentines day?" "Um, right now would be better." He came back with a box for the office and my own personal pack! Marriage is sweet!

Requesting Reader Advice

When I was in the 7th grade, one of my smart friends gave me a Christmas gift. It was a blue sparkly key chain with the phrase "I'm not opinionated, I'm just always right" imprinted on it. She told the story of how she was in the store and this key chain had my name all over it. She was much smarter than I....I didn't understand what it was saying until high school. Now that I understand, I proudly give the title to my madre. She calls last night and starts the interrogation: Are you eating your vegetables? On Pizza! Are you taking your vitamins? Yes, everyday Are you drinking orange juice? No, it gives me heartburn Ugh, RELL! MOM! Are you signed up for any classes? No. RELL I go on to explain that they are just not feasible. They are around $100 and they run for 6 weeks, Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8. There is no way we could make that fit in right now and plus, I don't need any classes What do you mean you don't need classes? You are going to get mad if ...

Reasons

There are reasons why my blog posts have been a little scarce lately. #1. I have a ton to post, but I don't want to spill the beans. I have been decorating our once guest room.....it is turning into an AWESOME/MANLY nursery, but I don't want to show it off until I'm done. #2. I have been training my new replacement at work and it is exhausting at times. #3. Apparently I don't have many reasons. Hopefully I will come up with something by tomorrow!

3-D

Ever see a movie in 3-D? Ever see a movie you swore you would never see....about blue people...and like it? Yeah, me too!

Can't Hardly Wait

Kindness

Kindness is like glue....a little bit goes a long way. (Montana learned this song in 3rd grade and I've never been able to forget it..."a little bit of glue does a lot...") I am a freak about checking the mail. I LOVE MAIL. Every summer day in Arizona, Montana and I would either ride our bikes or roller blade to the post office so I could check the mail. It was the highlight of my day (other than 5:30 when Dad got home). There are always surprises in there. Doesn't matter if it is a bill or a newspaper filled with coupons, I love it. I got two very special things in the mail on Tuesday. I got a box full of markers....smelly markers, and a love note from a friend. I can't tell you how happy I still am. I have spent my last two evenings getting weird looks from Jake. I sit (on the couch, floor, wherever) and take one cap off at a time and smell these markers. They are like nose candy. Jake can't participate in this sheer delight because his sniffer is broken. H...

Road Blocks

Boys create a decorating road block sometimes. I have started making things and decorating his new room....but it seems like girls are so much easier. If it has the slightest ruffle or looks like it isn't 100% boy.... its out of the question. So when I found this fabric I went wild. Don't you just love it! I already made a blanket with the fuzzy green material. I just wrapped the white ribbon around the outside. It is so soft and cute. I love it so much that I even snuggle with it.

Two At A Time (Weeks That Is)

I feel like I just blew up in the last two weeks. To see if I was crazy or not, I recreated my 22 week picture. But first Jake took these pictures to confirm that wearing white = looking HUGE A lot has happened in between the time of these two pictures. For starters, check out my ankles... I take off my socks and the sock line stays there for about 4 hours. ' I get more head turns at the gym ' More people touch my belly ' I have freaked out a little more about the delivery process and how big certain body parts get . ' I walk .2 speed slower on the treadmill ' We changed his name....a million times actually. Turns out some family members pronounce it funny. Its not a weird name at all. We still might name him that name but we have to meet him first. I never knew how intimidating the name picking process is. I start to like a name and then run it by my other half....who then laughs, makes a funny face, says "I knew a guy in high school with that name and ...

Taking A Toll

This weekend just flew by. So did January. ~ Jake worked all of Friday night and ALL DAY Saturday . I used to hate it but it doesn't bother me that bad anymore...I have tons of projects to do. ~ All of this late night/long hours working takes a toll on Jake ~ On Friday he asked me to stop by his accountants office to pick up some documents for him. He told the receptionist I would be coming and that I had blond hair. ~ Then on a late night run to rent a movie, Jake comes to a red light. Instead of treating it as the stop light that it is... he stops... looks both ways, and then went. He had it in his mind that it was a stop sign . ~ This morning I asked him if I looked okay. He says "yeah, you look really cute." Satisfied, I start to put my shoes on and he says "but you don't look as cute as you did yesterday." He was trying to pay me a compliment on how I looked good yesterday but it backfired on him and I tried on a billion more things... making us late ...
