My New October

February  It's been the best. It's definitely the best month in the desert.  It's my new October. March is pretty sweet too, it smells like heaven! March can be my new November :)

Spartan Sprint

It feel like a decade ago we signed up for this Spartan race. In fact, I may have been pregnant still. Maybe not. It was a long time ago 😆 But it was Julia's idea. And I'm SOOOO glad she actually takes action when she wants something because I had been bummed that I hadn't found friends that are as active as my gym/running friends from WA. I missed the races and the adventures but I didn't know anyone that would want to do them. But then Julia joined a gym last year and wanted something to work towards. An advertisement for a spartan race popped up on her FB and now you know the story :) So Julia made a team, signed us up, orchestrated everything, and I basically just went and had a blast.  The best part is that for a while, I wasn't even 100% positive what a Spartan race was. I knew there was mud and dirt and muscles involved so I actually youtube-d a video after Julia told me we had to climb over a 7 foot wall 😅 We signed up fo...

Little Goldmine

For the past few months Roxy has been really awful.  She's been really difficult and cries way too much and isn't happy for more than a few minutes unless she's in the stroller or being carried. So when Breckie was invited to a friends house one morning, Roxy and I went hiking.  If I was going to be carrying her anyways we might as well be doing something I want to be doing.  Roxy was perfect. Literally perfect.  We got to the top in 20 minutes flat.  We walked around at the top for a few minutes and then headed back down.  The desert wildflowers were a nice bonus :) Roxy fell asleep on the way to the car. I would take her on a hike everyday if I could. Truthfully! It was so fun to feel her little body on my back and then lay her head down when she was tired.  What isn't so fun is looking like a Chia pet with all my new hair growing in (because it falls out after you have a baby). Having...

I Scream Truck

We were out riding bikes and heard the ice cream truck.  So we rode home and emptied our piggy banks and waited for the ice cream truck to find us.  We even had to count out pennies :) but had enough for two minion popsicles.  Happy Summer memories... I mean February memories!

Roxy 9

ROXY girl!  She's 9 months of baby goodness.  Something magical happened the other day.  Everett and Breckie were headed to a birthday party so we went to the store to pick out presents.  And this cute little outfit ended up in my cart.  Later when the kids were at the birthday party Roxy begged me to try it on her.  It was just the cutest. It was also a nice day.  So we went outside to eat leaves. See, happiness: I ran inside to grab the camera and took plenty of pictures.  (Happiness is only having one kid at home at a time. It's the best.) So we enjoyed this little backyard playdate... just the two of us.  What? There's a leaf on my face? Whatever! Besides the burden of having way too many pictures stored on my computer, sometimes I think I couldn't have a more fun hobby. Photo-documenting my life is pretty rad.  ...
