Peaches, Pool, and Farewell

On Thursday, after we had birthday cake and cookies for breakfast, we headed over to Schnepf Farms to pick some of those peaches we saw the Saturday before.  We even found a few apple trees.  5 pounds of peaches later we checked out the produce stand right before riding the train.  Before leaving we took a walk through the country store.  Since it was the first almost-100-degree day of the year AND I had all kinds of helpers, we went to the Mesquite Groves pool for a few hours. Everett went down the really big slides for the first time! I am so proud of how brave he was but he probably won't do it again for a while. Getting dumped in the pool at the end of the slide was a little scary for him.  Breckie LOVED jumping off the edge of the pool and got her fist swim lesson from Grammy. I'm sure she'll be swimming in no time…. or perhaps her and Everett will learn at the same time! Lunch at t...

Everett Turned 5

The morning after Everett's birthday we sang to him and watched him open presents (since he fell asleep for 13 hours the evening before!). Family birthday pictures are some of my most favorite pictures but the morning sun was a little crazy! There's nothing like blowing out your birthday candles at 8 o'clock in the morning… wearing the same shirt you've worn for three days in a row. :) He was super excited about all of his new toys.  Debbie Lynn (from Jake's office) even sent home a half dozen cookies just for Everett! After this he officially felt 5.  He even told me, "Mom, now I'm 5!"

Everett's Ninja Turtle Birthday Party

This year Everett wanted a ninja turtle party and I think it turned out great. I hope he remembers how special he is and felt! A few friends couldn't make it but we had lots of fun with the ones that could. We had pepperoni pizza delivered, ninja turtle green Gatorade, and veggies. And then we made ooze. We sang, had cupcakes, and opened presents.  (His friends are amazing artists. Check out the birthday card and ninja turtle drawing!!) Kids are hilarious. One kid only licked the frosting off, one decorated herself with it and then ate it, and one ate the whole cupcake in two bites! Everett got a ninja turtle sprinkler, a ninja turtle water bottle, a chainsaw, and a batman + bat mobile.  It was so cute how Everett wanted to wear his mask the entire party. He always wants to be Michaelangelo. So I had to get a picture of the ninjas wearing their masks.  How cute are they??! At...
