A Day In The Life Of Batman

Batman woke up. He had some breakfast and then took a bath. He was a little confused because his bat-mobile was a little smaller than normal. His mom was sick of him draining the bath water in .2 seconds... so she got a new bath tub. A smaller one that he couldn't drain. No big deal... he made himself comfy in his new bat-mobile. Then Batman pooped in his new tub. (sorry, no pictures) Batman's mom made Batman's dad clean out the bathtub when he got home from work. After food, bath, and a nap he was ready for hours and hours of play time. It started with the sauce pan lid... then some real toys. He chased those balls all around the kitchen and formal living room. Things got a little tricky when the balls went under the table... It was so funny... he was trying to jump through the chair to get to the ball. But he used his Bat skills (or his mom) to get the balls back. After more food and another nap, we were ready to hit up the Goodwill (for possible tre...

Born To Be Wild

We brought home a little souvenir for Everett (from our cruise). A T-shirt made especially for him! He really is so wild. He is also quite messy. (see above) On a normal day, he will go through several changes of clothes. (because according to Jake, boys don't wear "outfits"). A few days ago we had his post-surgery dr. visit. I had put Everett in our empty bath tub (because he is obsessed) while I finished getting ready. In a matter of seconds, he crawled over to the faucet, stood up, and then turned the water on... getting himself all wet. Today, while Jake and I were doing dishes, Everett spit up on the floor and then rubbed it in. Fantastic. Then we took him on his first "Horsey" ride (a.k.a. Everett riding on Jake's back while Jake crawls and I hold Everett steady). Everett was laughing so hard. It was the cutest thing ever and was one of those awesome family moments. He laughed so hard that he got the hiccups and then spit up all over Jake's...

Rock n' Ride

We went to visit some friends last night... and we came home with some new toys! I think he likes it!

Eight Month Everett

This is Everett. He is eight months old today. Eight-month-old Everett loves himself. He loves his reflection. He also loves other kids and babies... probably because he thinks they are his reflection. This kid loves the bath. It is slightly ridiculous. No matter where we are in the house, he will crawl to the bathroom, stand up by the edge of the tub and he'll stay there until you go get him. (And he does this like 100 times a day). Once he fell into the tub. He just lifted a leg and pulled himself right in. He doesn't need any help draining the water either. He knows how to un-screw the plug. He's such a punk! Other than being a punk and draining his own bath water, he: Still has butt issues Crawls to a destination just to stand up... i.e. my leg, chairs, the fridge, his crib slats, the couch Still sleeps like a baby... wakes up all of the time at night Prefers mom over dad (I can say this now because it might be the only time in his life) Cries EVER...

Coincidently Funny

(Everett in his cute new shirt) Do you ever wonder if God has a sense of humor? Last Friday I was expressing my gratitude (in our nightly prayer) for having such reliable cars. Saturday morning my car broke down. (And our friends had just asked if we liked our car. We said yes). Last night (while praying) I asked that Everett would sleep straight until morning. As soon as we said 'Amen' he woke up. (And he never wakes up at that time). Coincidence?... I don't know. Funny?... Yes

Baby Emotions

The longer I am a mom, the more I realize that babies are just small people. They arrive with their own personalities. And Everett's got a lot of personality and emotion packed into that tiny body of his... and he explodes when Dad comes home. He smiles super big and starts to get giddy. He knows that Dad will tickle him, throw him up in the air, wrestle with him, and throw him on the love sac. Its cute to watch everyday. See the emotions... And the concentration... We just love his guts... and emotions.

Baby Banz

My friend gave Everett some Baby Banz when he was super little. I tried them on him once but he pulled them right off. On Saturday we took him for another bike ride and decided to try the sunglasses one more time (since the sun was actually out).... he left them on! We are so cool! Don't you like how my sunglasses take up half of my face?... but don't look at me, look at how cool Everett looks in his shades... When we got back from our bike ride it was barely warm enough to stay outside... we'll take every second we can outside. Of course Everett loved it outside. Maybe the sun will come out more often this year... but we'll probably have to wait until September to see it again.

One Week Later

(The church building right outside of Mary Bridge) It's been a week since Ev's big surgery. He is doing well. We are going through 75% more wipes and diapers than before! He poops up to 8 times a day... he's a pooping machine now! Tuesday wasn't good though. He was sitting in his high chair eating like a champ when he decided to dirty his fresh diaper. All of a sudden he just started screaming, his face when bright red, screaming, his legs went stiff,  he was hyperventilating, screaming... it's like he was in labor. Some pretty big chunks had come out and it hurt him pretty bad. Every time he pooped after that he cried a lot (painful cry) even when there wasn't any chunks at all. So, we went to the doctor today and found that he has a tear. Luckily it is exterior and can be healed with a little triple antibiotic. It's always a relief to find out what's wrong. He also cleared the Hirschsprung's test. Good news.  Other than that, he is good. His ...

Worth A Thousand Words

Indoor

We played indoor soccer with some friends last night. We had a blast. (We played last Tuesday too, but last night was a million times more fun.) It's a winning combination. Friends. Fun. Excercise. On a different note... we just watched the Worst Cooks in America show on the Food Network and I almost died laughing. No joke. I was laughing so hard I was snorting, gasping, and crying. We put that one on the DVR for sure! AND... you know those awesome Ocean Spray commercials?... well I just saw one from 'Uncle Everett's Farm' in Maine. Keep you eye out for the commercial!

Baby Bath Robe

Someone loves baths... He loves them so much that he crawled back to the tub for more... But decided to help Dad drain the tub instead Gotta love that little puppy dog tongue of his... and that bath robe!

The Last 10 Days

We've been home for about 10 days now. We had a lot of catching up to do... We took him on his first bike ride And Everett has had quite the reunion with one of his favorite toys... the vacuum! He loves that thing. And one night he cracked us up because he kept putting his feet on the table! He knows that he OWNS us! But the most exciting thing is that he learned to crawl the first day we were home! And then... he learned... to stand! So we had to lower his mattress all of the way to the bottom! It's like he grew up on warp speed last week! He even crawls up the stairs now. And his very favorite place to crawl... the bathroom right across from his room. Sure, he LOVES to take baths... but I think that it is this that is alluring him: It's been a busy 10 days!
