A Touch Of Tyrell

I don't think 30 is old… I don't even think 60 is old anymore, but 32?? I really just can't believe how fast time goes by. Jake was 22 when we got married! I just don't feel like it's possible. Either way, it happened.  We went out with the Millers. It was their 7 year anniversary.  I'm usually not one to plan the dates (which is a good thing) because I planned this date at such an odd time that there weren't any movies playing and there wasn't really anything else to do… so we just came home and ate cake!  Right on schedule, Breckie got out of her bed and puked all over her door and floor. Luckily I got her to the bathroom sink where she puked a third time and then wet her pants. This was only after a very sleepless night (the previous night) where both Breckie and Everett puked all night long! It was Jake's happiest birthday to date ;) So Breckie stayed up and watched us eat cake and talk about big kid things li...

The day after Christmas it was super windy we we rode bikes to the park to fly the kite. It's always super fun to fly the kite, but the more windy, the better.  It's so fun when the wind really picks up and pulls you down the field. Everett really, really wanted to fly the kite by himself and the two times Jake let him, he went flying down the field :) He has the grass stains to prove it! We also brought the Nerf guns and that was a HUGE hit when the neighbor kids came out to play too.  Breckie and I had fun taking pictures, riding scooters/bikes, running after the kite, and playing "food" at the park. She's always 'taking my order.'  Besides the sometimes un-ruly toddler and occasional sleepless night, I really enjoy the stage our family is in. It's getting to be a lot of fun!

Once we were semi-functional from our sleepless night, we enjoyed the magic or Christmas morning.  Our tree was overflowing with gifts and our stockings were stuffed full of goodies.  Breckie was well enough to open a few presents and enjoy the morning.  Everett had been so excited about Christmas… he was just so excited we were finally opening presents! Grandma Berner heard that Everett has really been into money lately and sent him some pretty awesome money gifts! Breckie got some Lego's from her grandmas and super duper loved opening them with scissors! I kept trying to get a decent picture of these two in front of the tree... Everett was the cutest and said, "Breckie, mom really like to have nice pictures."  Eventually we continued our tradition of omelets and hot chocolate for breakfast and the kids had fun with their toys.  We were able to Skype with my sister (Effie) ...

I shared a very detailed version of the Nativity to the young women in church this year and focused a lot on the events prior (and right up to) the birth of our Savior.  I did a lot of reading and study on Mary and Joseph and I feel like I have a greater and deeper understanding/knowledge/love for the Christmas season because of it.  We try to teach our children why we celebrate Christmas and give gifts and I know they'll understand little by little. They had a lot of fun picking out and wrapping gifts for each other and for Jake this year and were so excited to give them. It was really sweet to see.  Christmas Eve was somewhat eventful for us :) It wouldn't be Christmas unless someone was sick. It started by Breckie puking. Then Everett continued to get out of bed 6 times because he wanted to know is Santa had come yet.  Breckie ended up falling asleep in our bed around 10 and once Everett "discovered" that Santa had come, he fell asleep in ...

My Dad and Kelly came down to visit us on Wednesday to spend the afternoon with us. It was literally everything I needed. First, Kelly brought us her amazing fudge and chocolate covered peanuts.  Then they took us out to Oregano's for dinner. It was super, super good and I think now we have a new favorite restaurant.  This salad was no joke.  When we were so stuffed, we came home and the kids opened their presents from Papa and Kelly. They are so spoiled! Everett got puzzles, Legos, Pez, Rescue Bot books, a Ninja turtle lunch box, and probably a few things that I'm forgetting.  Breckie got a carebear, blanket/zebra, Pez, and again, I'm probably forgetting something… she was obsessed with all of it, especially the reindeer Pez :) We played games and cards and my heart was so happy.
