Dancing Buddy

There happens to be several little girls that Roxy gets to play with at dance, the gym, and preschool (or two out of the three). It's fun to see her make little friendships.  We don't have playdates and friends over like we did for the older two because we are busy with extra things now. I feel a little guilty about it but it's also a relief. She has plenty of friends around and she'll go to Kindergarten in July and make even more friends!

Valentines Day

I hardly have any pictures to prove it, but we had a fun, family valentines day.  I left a heart & candy trail out of each bedroom to their valentines gift. New shoes for the girls, a book for Everett, new sheets & pillows for Jake and lots of candy for everyone.  Jake gave me a cast iron dutch oven, flowers and a book that he made for me. It's really cute and super thoughtful! We had chicken Caesar salad, raspberry Italian sodas & raspberry heart-swirl cheesecake.   The next day Jake and I took a walk around Pecan Lakes and the new queen creek horticulture edible garden.  Valentines is a fun little holiday I've always loved and the kids love exchanging valentines at school.

Without Him

It would be my dad's birthday today... it's the third one we've passed since he has. I miss him all of the time and he's in every detail of my life, including this blog.  He was my main source of motivation and encouragement to document all things. Now it almost seems like baggage... like a chore.  But for whatever reason, I'm still here posting unflattering pictures and documenting parts of my life that could easily be forgotten. Like Roxy's new trick of fitting in my shirt with me... how much closer can this girl get to me!! Our friend Maghen is really into oils and has gotten Breckie into them too. She let Breckie borrow a diffuser with oils to help her sleep. Breckie included some cute notes for when she will return it :) Roxy and Hunter have been carpooling to/from preschool for the last few months. Sometimes they are buds... sometimes they're not! *picture on the right was from their preschool valentines day party Breckie was loving Grammy doing her ha...

Grammy's Field Trip

My mom came for a visit.  It was time to warm up and see the grand babies.  Jake had an idea to take us to Superior for a hike one day she was here. We saw some rock climbers and I immediately wanted to some back with the right equipment. Roxy wanted to climb around too... it's funny how alike we are :) After the hike and short road trip, we went to Bosa donuts for a treat. I'm not a huge donut fan, but they really do make the best ones. The buttermilk donut is THE BEST. I had it once at an Edward Jones picnic years ago and when I saw it in the display case I knew I had to have one again.    Roxy had to pee by the time we got to Bosa... but they didn't have public restrooms. So we stole some napkins and peed out by the dumpster. #classy We are glad Grammy came for a visit and that we could take her on a tour of our neck of the desert (even if the heat and our kids' singing gave her a headache!).

Hard Time Apologizing

I know this isn't a picture someone would love of themselves posted on the internet... but I was showing a friend a picture of Everett's hair.  We happened to be waiting in the parking lot of the doctors office. Everett stayed home all week due to the common cold last week. I thought it could have been strep... well, actually our neighbor (whom I consult for all medical related things) thought she saw white bumps in the back of his throat.  Turns out, he just blew his way through 3 boxes of tissues and watches at least 20 hours of tv... He would have missed 2 baseball practices and a game but the weather canceled a practice and a game anyways.  Everett has a friend on the same baseball team and they got into a moment of hurt feelings. Being 10 is hard. Learning how to deal with emotions is also hard and it's revealed a little bit more of an issue for Everett.  He's having a hard time learning to be humble and apologize. It's been extra tough for him. But I'm gue...

My Last Little Buddy

The other day the kids brought home the "intent to return" papers from school for the 21/22 school year. It also encouraged kindergarteners to register for the year.  I've been excited for Roxy to start kindergarten but lately the thought saddens me. I just don't know what I'll do without my Roxy-Roo! I mean, I know exactly what I'll do but she's my last little person to start school and it's surreal. I'm not old enough for this yet!! This last week it was a week of Spring weather. Rain, coldness, clouds and excitement. We enjoyed it so much! Roxy is really cute to sneak up on or eaves drop on when she is playing. She sings the best made up songs and plays so cute with toys.  She is also fond of making messes. She is really good at messing up EVERYTHING. She is our only child to cut her own hair, draw on the walls, use an entire bottle of Costco conditioner on her hair, put toothpaste in the door lock... ...so she enjoys dumping and mixing in the k...
