26

All of Jake's life, he has wanted to be 25. As he completed his last day of being 25 yesterday, we highlighted why his 25th year was so great. 1. It was his first whole year in business...and he rocked it. 2. Bought quads 3. Took a road trip to Utah to visit his best buds 4. Made a baby.................................................................................> 5. Almost died rafting the Wenatchee river 6. Went to the sand dunes with his friends 7. And in his eyes, earned some respect just by being 25 Today is the day Jake turns 26. I think 26 will be just as good as 25. Happy Birthday Babe!

Pretty Clever

When asked 'what I wanted for Christmas' from my in-laws, I replied "something homemade." This is what we got: Translation: Life's rich with Good & Plenty, every kiss a 100 Grand. He's your Big Hunk, She's your darling Sweet Tart. Sugar Babies hand in hand; Snickers, joy, and laughter are what you love the best. Take 5 and Look for a (movie tickets) for soon you will be rattled with no rest. A special gift just for you (Babies R Us) as days Rolo by....and left will seem like right. Skors of Whoppers you will be changing with Mounds both day and night. (this next part makes no sense because Pam made it up) Remember Mr Goodbar paid a visit. Those nerds, they saved the day. Milky Way is on the Horizon and Whatchamacallits on the way.

Today WAS The Day

Today WAS the day we were supposed to find out the gender of our baby....(even though I already know the gender). We changed the appointment to Jan 4th because of the whole insurance deductible starting over in 2010 thing. So to keep our minds off of the fact that I might possibly be 100% wrong on assuming it is a boy....I will highlight our Christmas Celebrations: 1. The Christmas Eve ugly Christmas sweater contest (with Jakes entire family). I did not win, but will post a picture of the ugly sweater I wore. 2. The white elephant gift exchange (with Jakes entire family). Grandpa Jack got body butter. Used body butter. Nobody would steal it because it was used avocado body butter. He kept trying to pawn it off... We ended up with a squeaky dog toy that we gave to someone else's dog. 3. Jakes excitement over his new goggles 4. Tearing up over Bridget's gift She made a beautiful BERNER sign, bath soaps for me, and a neck warmer for Jake. You can just feel the love she has for us...

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning....in the pajamas Mom made last year. All of the stuff in my stocking vs. all the stuff in his. Best picture of the day! The best part about this picture...is jake picking his nose! And you can see all of the water storage and weights Jake used to disguise my gifts!

Merry Christmas

*These are drawings from Kaydra .

Full & Heavy

Santa came this afternoon and filled my stocking. He filled it a little too full and broke the string. Good thing Santa knows how to sew: Then it was too heavy. He had to brace it: I just can't wait to see what is in it!

No Bakes

Oh, the no bake! Do I have a story for you! Sunday night Jake was 2 hours away from visiting some families in our ward and decided he needed cookies or something to take. I rummaged through our cookbooks and everything that looked good...we didn't have the ingredients. All of our butter was frozen, we didn't have eggs, and our time was limited. Jake came up with the idea for no bakes. I was VERY hesitant to make them. Growing up, Montana and I would huddle in the kitchen and look through our 1 cookbook to find a treat to make our Dad. A single man of many years...he didn't get very many homemade treats....(except for when Sister Eagar brought over leftovers from a funeral or wedding). We always resorted to our no bake recipe card we got from our neighbor. We would fire up the 1970 stove top, pull out the cocoa from 1988, and put every ingredient in the pot. We would mix it just until it was all melted and spoon it out onto tin foil... The two of us would gather around the ...

Movin' On Up

It was two weeks ago that I felt the baby move for the first time. It was incredible. Every time it moves I get so excited. When we were sitting in church yesterday afternoon, I think it was dancing. I just can't wait until the movements are big enough for Jake to feel. Yesterday it was my little sister's 14 th Birthday. She has had some pretty bad allergies lately, so her birthday wasn't spectacular.... These are the latest pictures I have of her (from my mom) The super sad thing is that she is 6 inches taller than me already. She's not my little sister anymore. Effie is incredibly talented and was smarter than me when she was in the 5 th grade. I don't remember the day she was born (I don't know why...I was 9) but I do remember her as a baby. She had the craziest/wildest curly white hair ever. I used to carry her around everywhere and rock her to sleep. She was my buddy. She cried every time I left for the summer and gave me the biggest hugs when I got ho...

Bellevue

We went to Bellevue last night to see the lights and eat at the Cheesecake factory It took forever to get there because everyone had the same idea. We fought because I was being mean. It was an hour and fifteen minute wait to eat. We shared fish tacos and cheesecake. We went to a paper store that was incredible. We looked at cameras when we were done. Then we stayed up late playing Lego batman. What a night!

This To That

We had two of those Ikea coffee tables sitting in our garage. Ikea is the most amazing store ever. The only problem was, since the time Jake and I have purchased those tables, we have moved 3 times. This last move we just didn't put them back together again. So you can see, I drew a little picture and Jake built me a little something. I love how marriage works! . On a side note, about a year or two ago I went crazy and bought some really nice jeans. Ignoring my friend's suggestion to buy the jeans really tight (because they stretch...not shrink) I bought 3 pair, all too big. They have been sitting in boxes labeled "big clothes." I have been rummaging through those boxes trying to find things to wear. So I found these really nice jeans. . I have this thing with the new style of jeans. The "Suffocate your ankle" jeans. You know, the jeans you have to wear with ballerina slippers because they are SO TIGHT at the bottom. Yeah, I can't pull those off. So a...

Someday

Isn't someday great. Someday I will get to stay home and watch Martha Stewart and HGTV all day long Someday I will have a gigantic craft room Someday I won't owe anyone any money Someday we will have Christmas in a snowy cabin in the woods Someday I will have a nice tan Someday Jake will have a 12 car garage Someday tights will be comfortable Someday the temperature in church will be warm Someday I won't be so shy Someday Jake will come home at 3:00 Someday we will travel the world Someday I will be able to call the credit card company to change my address and they won't try to sell me something Someday I will be fashionable and I will have BIG hair Someday.

One Thousand Twelve

Nothing much to say today except that overnight I gained 1012 pounds (mostly from Christmas cookies and goodies) and now cannot button any buttons on my pants. Thank you belly band...

So I Have Heard

On Saturday we had a combined work party with some other agents. This is how it went: While in conversation with another Amfam agent, he asks "how is pregnancy treating you?" "Pretty good" From the background, my eavesdropping husband shouts, "Tell him the truth" "Okay, okay, I have been getting A LOT of heartburn" Mars (the other Amfam agent) starts to laugh, a lot. I just smile. Then Mars finally says "you know that there is an old wives tale that the more heartburn you have, the hairier you baby will be." (You see, Mars is black and his daughters have a lot of very curly hair. His wife confirms that the wives tale is in fact, very true). Everyone laughs. Even I laugh. Because Jake is a VERY hairy guy. Then everyone entertains the idea that we will have a monkey child.... and that is how the night went.

This Is Why

This is why I love Jake so much: On Friday he comes home and announces that he brought me home something.....and then proudly displays this box of binder clips. "Ohhhhh, thanks babe" Then he opens it. I seriously busted up. He is so funny. I can't wait to see what kind of wild imagination our children have.

Thoughts

There are time when we all get lost in out thoughts. Sometimes we do more thinking than doing....like today. It has been a little hard for me to sleep lately. While I am lying awake, Jake will roll over and rub my tummy. It is cute when I am lying on my other side and he rubs my butt. Either way, I know he loves me more than anything. This morning he offered to let me stay home. I know just as well as anyone that Fridays are one of the busiest days of the week. I still went to work but my brain had been taken over by thoughts, and I didn't get much done. Thoughts of marriage. I am one lucky girl to have Jake as my husband. All those jokes about men 'riding on their wife's backs' to heaven is bologna. He is the better half of this relationship. He seriously is everything I need and want in a husband. Thoughts of motherhood. Jake takes much pride in the fact that he is going to be a Dad soon. He tells pretty much everyone that comes into the office (I think he got that fr...

Milk's Favorite Cookie

JAKES favorite cookie. It has been really cold here lately. Saturday morning Jake and I went to Bellevue and this was a shot of his windshield. This morning it was 10 degrees.

16

Last Monday I got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the fist time. Grateful, weird, strange, and excited were some emotions I felt. Grateful because there was a healthy heartbeat, weird and strange that there is life forming inside of me, and excited.......because we are having a baby! Sometimes when Jake and I are just hanging around the house, I just can't believe that there is going to be another one of us. We have an appointment on the 28th for our 20 week ultra sound. We are so stoked! This picture is from today/16 weeks. You can always click on the picture to make it bigger...if you want. Jake called me cute today. Sometime you don't feel cute when you can't find anything to wear, so it was nice to hear.

The Mountain Is Out

You Must Live In Washington Jokes: 1. If you measure distance in hours, you live in Washington. 2. If you have switched from 'heat' to 'a/C' and back again in the same day, you live in Washington. 3. If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over 8 layers of clothes, you live in Washington. 4. If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction, you live in Washington. 5. If you wear socks with your sandals, you must live in Washington. 6. If you have ever said "the mountain is out" you must live in Washington. Number 4 is the my favorite and most correct of all. Number 6 is equally hilarious. Mt. Rainier is always there...but most of the year it is covered by clouds but "The mountain" has been out these last few days. It has been nice to look up into the cloudless sky and see Mt. Rainier. Its beautiful!

So Much Trouble

Being Santa is hard sometimes. Jake has mentioned several time throughout the past year that he needs a new drill. So when Costco is having an insane deal on them, it is hard to hide his gift. So he puts in under the tree and I inform him that I will need to wrap it. He complains a tad, but its hard to change my pregnant mind. I walk away for .2 seconds and he has the entire box opened and everything is out. I didn't even wait for the camera to focus. I had to catch him in the act.

Smile Detection

After eating our Thanksgiving feast, Jake and I were trying to make Brianna's smile detection feature work (on her camera) Apparently it takes 3 consecutive pictures when it thinks you are smiling This is what we got: YES, that is a booger bubble coming out of Jakes nose! I am a freak I hope you laughed. I can't stop!!
