This is why today rocked.  Woke up, made breakfast, went on a family bike ride in the most AMAZING cool-morning-of-a-hot-day kind of weather.  Got back and made banana bread with Everett.... ... while Jake made dinner to put in the Crock Pot.  (cutting onions for pot roast!) Made lunch, went to church, came home and played out in the hot-day shade. It was lovely.  Had the missionaries over for pot roast and warm rolls with homemade jam. Sunday dinner doesn't get any better than that! Then we went to the Miller's house for games and treats. And by 'treats' I mean the best homemade snickerdoodles I've EVER had (and some coconut white chocolate chip bars... YUM)!  I'm not going to lie, it was a pretty great Sunday full of all my favorite things! Treats, friends, my family, church, great weather, good company and more. 

Although "So This Is Life (Chapter 1)" was a sad, whiny, loooong post about what my life was like 2.5 months ago... chapter 2 is much different.  I've gained a wealth of knowledge in the last 75ish days. Mostly about food and how is severely impacts my life but that will have to be chapter 3 because I don't have enough time to type it all out now (and it's complicates and I'm still working out the kinks).  So here's chapter 2.  My hip is still wonky. Lame. One hip is almost an inch lower than the other and my whole pelvis is twisted. Double lame. (Lame lame.) So I'm still going to the chiropractor multiple times a week. Everyone in the office adores my children so it's not a big deal.  I made jam. Strawberry and peach/mango.  I can't get enough of these two: Well, actually I can... but not really. You know what I mean.  It's 'fall break' from preschool and I've learned that life + p...

There is seriously nothing in my life that can replace the happiness I get every single morning when I walk outside and feel the sunshine on my skin.  For me, it's the best way to start my day. Quite honestly, if I don't go outside at least once a day (even with it's hotter than H.E.L.L.) my day is just weird. So outside I go! Breckie has been my little sunshine-loving companion lately. (That sounds like something you might say about a dog... but she's WAAAAAY awesomer than a dog). One day we found 32 cents.  One day we saw this: And one day I got really sweaty.  But everyday we LOVE it. (And everyday my tan lines get a little worse and worse!) It's like our morning coffee but WAAAAAAY better. 

A few weeks ago some friends invited us over for dinner.  Everett fell asleep on the way over there and ended up sleeping on their couch... the entire evening. He woke up as we were leaving.  So he didn't get to play with their 'boys'.  But it's okay. Because we ate great food, played with their tortoise and the new hatchlings, ate several bowls of homemade ice cream and played games. It was a great night.  Before we knew it we were on our way back to their house a few days later to buy a hatchling.  Jake was in love....  So he built a box in our backyard for the baby tortoise that we'd soon own.  We brought him home and played with him for a night.  We named him Ironhyde.  The next morning we were hanging out in the frontyard (where we have grass and the tortoise eats grass and his box in the backyard didn't have grass yet). Here's the post about her room. How I made Breckie's temple picture.  I spent some time looking at pictures of temples online. I thought about the Mt. Timpanogos temple because that is where Jake and I were married.  So I held a piece of paper up to the computer screen and traced it! But I decided that I wanted something more girly and decided on the Oakland temple. I picked up 4 pieces of 1x4 (in) x10 (ft) at the lumber store and painted them white.  I had Jake cut them all in half and then screw them together (using a 1x2 (in) piece of scrap wood on the back).
