Astoria Oregon

We left Longbeach and headed to Oregon.  We crossed over the longest, coolest bridge into Astoria. We planned on staying the night in Astoria and then heading to Cannon Beach (and ultimately Portland) the next morning. The girls were sleeping and it was raining so we pretty much just checked into our hotel, took baths, and went to bed. I can't ever sleep on vacation so I took like a quadruple dose of melatonin.  The next morning we wanted to drive around Astoria a little just to check it out. It was a WAY cute town! I should have taken some better pictures but Jake kind-of gets annoyed... so through-the-windshield pictures you get :) Here are a couple google pictures that give you a better idea of how cute the town was.  It was really cool.  Then we drove a couple of hours to Cannon Beach.  We tried to time it to where we got there at low tide so we could find some ocean creatures.

Longbeach- Sandcastle Competition

We were all thinking about going to Longbeach and then Mariah (one of Jake's sisters) mentioned they were having a sandcastle competition this certain weekend so the whole family planned on going.  It was pretty cool. We all had a good laugh looking at the mermaid creature: It's 10,000 times better than I could ever do, but it was still funny :) This next one was my favorite. It was titled Reverse Safari. After we looked at all the castles we went to Cape Disappointment for a picnic lunch and to play in the water.  Everett LOVES the ocean and was so excited! To watch Everett and Jake play in the water was the best. They are both huge fans of the ocean and had such a great time playing in the waves.  Breckie and Maleah were having fun playing in the sand for a while before they got in the water. They were such good friends.  Roxy was the happiest playing in the sand.  ...
