Blogbooks, Photobooks, Chatbooks...

A friend of mine kind-of chuckled when I mentioned my blog. I think it's because she is part of the population that once had a family blog like me but abandoned it long ago for much cooler and more convienient ways to preserve family memories and pictures.  But yes, I still blog. I've gotten behind a lot lately but I just backdate stuff until I get caught up. I refuse to get so far behind that I just stop blogging altogether.  I still haven't printed a single year of the blog into a book. I know I need to do something but it would take over a thousand dollars to print the last 7.5 years into books. And that's a lot of money. But I've spent ten times that in hours blogging... so I know it'll be worth it.  Someday.  Put it on my tab.  I have coupons for two free 8x8 photo books from Shutterfly. I started making one of Roxy's birth photos and story and I really, really like it. Way better than just a blog post.  So I'm go...

6 YEARS!

I've had this little space on the internet for 6 years now. I feel really lucky to have the last 6 years documented so well.  And to keep the goodness coming, here are some low quality pictures of our day at the mall yesterday :) Highlights were the Lego store, Disney store, and Barns & Noble where we played trains.  We played for 3 hours and the kids didn't cry or even ask to buy anything. I think that only happens once in a parent's lifetime! In fact, Everett even made a new friend at each store and it blew my mind how well he shared. He's such a good kid.  Well, here's to another 6 years :)

New Look

Okay, So I've spent the last several hours working on making a new header and background for my blog and I just don't have the skills necessary to make a good-enough looking blog for myself. Blog stuff is so complicated! So I've temporarily changed my blog to look like it does now. If you hate it and can't stand it please let me know... I happen to love it... maybe because I'm a sucker for collages. (Mine pops up on the flip card setting... it looks like you can change it to classic or any of the other settings (top left)) But if it's complicated and just not worth your blog-reading time I will call on the expertise of my good friend (who is genius with photoshop) and I'm sure I could sweet talk her into making me something gorgeous for my blog. (Or I could just use a pre-made template.... Ha! Now there's an idea!) So let me know.

How To Comment

For those who have had trouble commenting.... If you ever want to leave a comment and the system is being mean to you/you don't have a google account....this is how you do it: 1. click the word comment at the bottom of the post 2. Write what you want 3. Where it says: "Comment as" ...click the arrow 4. 2nd to the bottom, click name/URL 5. Just type in your name (such as Dad/Mom/Homeskillet) in the name row (nothing in the URL) and hit continue 6. Click "post comment" 7. Then, of course, de-code the distorted message and post your comment! That's it. And I cherish every comment.... so comment away!

I Want To Thank You Thank You

I've been meaning to tell you something for quite some time. Thank you. Thank you for reading my blog. In the beginning of all of this, I felt I was just writing to cyber space... but now I know that you're out there! Thanks for laughing , crying , and sympathizing with me. Thank you for letting me share my life with you. It may sound a little dorky... but this blog has changed my life. I feel that I don't take so many things for granted and I appreciate more of the small things. I LOVE reading about everyone else's life because I love our similarities and our differences. I have been able to identify myself through writing this blog. Thank you for the comments. I get so excited reading every little comment. Its nice to know that you're out there... that you think my baby is a little chunkier, that you don't think I'm a bad mom because I chose formula, that your didn't criticize me when I asked for reader advise (instead of advice....but putting spel...

Happy One

The first raspberry from our bushes I started my blog a year ago today. I can hardly believe it has been a year already. But there is more cause to celebrate.... this is my 250th post! I can hardly believe that either. So, thank you Ashlee for the inspiration to start my own blog and thank you Dad for being my first reader. So in memory of the early days, I scanned through the 250 posts and thought that this one was worthy of "re-posting." Thanks for reading A Touch of Tyrell!

A new adventure

So one of my childhood friends (Ashlee) has a blog that I stumbled upon one sleepless night about 4 months ago. I read her ENTIRE blog and she had so many heartwarming and inspiring stories that I immediately wanted one of my own! Through her blog she inspired me to be a better person....which may have never been her intention with her blog. Many of my other friends have blogs that they fill with GREAT pictures and stories of their families. I am not sure what will happen with mine, but it will be a great way for my mom and dad to keep tabs on me! Last night I was talking to Jake about if we had a blog, what would he want the address to be.....Berninblog is what he came up with. You know, because our last name is Berner....but I guess my less witty choice won. I hope everyone enjoys!
