A Touch Of Tyrell

We've been trying to keep busy here... which keeps me WAY too busy (overwhelm central). I think I try too hard to keep my kids engaged and away from the screen... maybe I would benefit from lowering my standards 😌 One way I keep the girls entertained is through crafts.... which usually  always involves the neighbor girls.  *Roxy did SO good painting in the lines and sprinkling the glitter! I honestly feel like I am raising AT LEAST 5 children.  ...which is probably why I feel so exhausted and overwhelmed!

The other day Breckie made a laptop and a phone.  She's adorable!

There was a whole week at the end of June where we didn't have anything planned. So we just lived the daily life.  Breckie loves crafts and got out her stuff and made an Elsa out of Perler beads. It was all her idea and she did it all by herself! We swam. The kids talked me into Dairy Queen.  (That's a Jurassic blizzard dinosaur eye :) I taught Everett how to make a quesadilla.  We made cookies and Roxy helped.  Roxy repeats everything we say (and things she thinks we say... like "birdy-fly") I finally painted the porch swing (the same color as the wood beam on the front of our house & the wood posts behind the pool)  I went to a photography/wedding album promotion thing one night a few weeks ago and came home with a "booklet" of leather album options. I decided to make them into earrings. So far I've only made black, red, and navy blue... (Breckie made her own earrings out of beads)  Bet...

All month we've been doing fun Halloween-y activities.  We made 50 ghost suckers to donate to the hospital. Grandma Berner sent activities for the kids 👌 Breckie ripped open her package to find a Halloween card with $$ inside, a color by numbers page and a scarecrow to color and assemble. She immediately got out her watercolors and started painting. (Grandma is so smart!) Everett and Roxy each got a card and package too :)  Breckie and I made pumpkin roll 😋 Everett was Harry Potter for his Literature Day Parade.  We LOVED checking out neighborhood decorations.  We carved pumpkins (Shelly ate the leftovers and pooped 5 times the next day 😆) We made a haunted ghost castle. We decorated our house. Made Halloween crafts. Set out our pumpkin patch.  And Everett wrote a Halloween story in speech. I think it's a pretty great story although he says he's not done yet.  ...

When I posted about the playloft someone asked about the string art.  I've only done it twice and both times it was free just because I already had all of the supplies. Back in January or February I made a giant mustache for my office.  All you need is wood, small nails (with a big head), and string of your choice. I happened to have white. It's super easy. You just nail out the design you want and wrap your string all around the nails.  When you very first start, you'll need to tie a knot around the nail with the string and then just go crazy. There is not pattern or rhyme to the reason… just make sure you keep the string very tight. And that's it!

We have 3 bedrooms and a loft upstairs.  It's the most perfect layout ever. Whoever designed this house was a genius.  For almost a year toys just sat on the floor and I could only dream of having shelves… and a ceiling fan! And then one day I told Jake that Summer was coming and we'd spend A LOT of time inside and that I'd need some shelves and a fan… and he said OK. (I Seriously love that man!!) So I bought everything and put it together one weekend when he was at scout camp. He put a fan in as soon as he got home.  I painted when he and Everett were on the father/son campout.  I made some string art (totally free project) and hung the alphabet letters back up. It is SO nice to play in the loft now! It's so perfect. Seriously, I couldn't be more happy with it!
