The Fair 2011

Jake and I went to the fair last Saturday night with some friends. We had a great time... but the entire time I felt so guilty because I knew Everett would've loved it. So we went back tonight and brought Everett with. We went to see the 4-H dogs first. Everett loves animals, especially dogs. He kept reaching out to pet them and he said his first word... dog. What a shocker. He said it over and over and it was so cute. We went to see the horses next. One was even named Jake! (Right outside of the horse stalls, ha ha!) Jake and Everett even got to pet some sheep and pygmy goats. (His fingers crack me up! They are so long!) We passed by the giant corn and sunflowers on the way to see the pigs. These little piggies were only 10 days old. (Poor Momma pig. I can't even imagine.) We were getting pretty hungry.... for BACON... just kidding... so we decided to head over to Earthquake Jake Burgers. We've heard so much about these burge...

It's Only Fair

Just another perk of living in our house.... our landlord owns stock in the Puyallup Fair. That means for the second year in a row we have received free tickets in the mail. What a nice lady! We only live about a mile uphill from the fair so we walked down to "Free Our Glee" last night. Our favorite about the fair is Hobby Hall and the mutton bustin. Inside Hobby Hall we got to see the displays by the local farms. My favorite was the fish tank The gigantic pumpkins are always a favorite Right outside of Hobby Hall was Hypno-chick. We would have loved to watch people get hypnotised but the speakers were way loud and she had a raspy smoker voice that was like fingernails on a chalkboard to Jake's ears. Plus, Everett was a little freaked out. After I took the second picture his bottom lip started to quiver. It was cute but sad so we moved on to get an Elephant Ear. (a.k.a. frybread with butter and Cinnamon sugar) Its one of those things that you just have to do at the fair. ...

Dream, Fruit Balls, & A Funny Story

Last night I dreamt that Jake bought me an American flag (on a stick) to put in the flag holder on our front porch. Too bad it was just a dream. Anyways..... On our walk down to the fair last Saturday, we saw these: Does anyone know what they are? They were about the size of golf balls and were rough. I bit into one (Jake advised me not to, I could have died ). It didn't really taste like anything and the inside was the same color as the outside. They were on a bush/tree right next to the cemetery. While you are thinking about that, I have a funny story . (It's only funny if your name ISN'T Tyrell). Before we moved into this house we had comcast....but we are trying to save $ so we didn't pay to have it hooked up in our new house. So Saturday, right before spotting these mystery fruit balls, a very small sales woman knocked on our front door. Naturally, Jake answered. She was a door-to-door Comcast sales woman asking if a Tyrell Berner lived here. Jake kindly answers ...

Toughest Sport on Wool

If Jake and I ever have a farm, we are going to have these designer chickens! And perhaps (one day) our kids might want to do this: Check out these videos! We had a lot of fun at the fair this year. During the Mutton Bustin' I cried a little. An old friend of mine used to ride bulls and just the feel of being at the 'rodeo' brought back some good times. Jake cried because he was laughing so hard. These kids were awesome!
