Obsessed

Everyone always commented on Everett's endless expressions as an infant.... well, he still has a few good one's as a big kid. And one thing that hasn't changed... his love for water. Everett + water = best friends.   He loves to play outside in the water but to him there's nothing more magical than the water and ice dispenser on the fridge! He's obsessed!

Love Me Some Goods

I love garage/yard/moving sales but I especially love the community sales. A friend told me about one this weekend (and Jake was working) so Ev and I went to check it out. I loaded Everett up in the stroller and found some good deals. I got everything in this picture for $6.25. My favorite was the toy truck for a quarter! I seriously love summertime and all that comes with it... especially the sales.

Little Beauties

I was taking pictures of these beauties from the garden when my handsome little guy came strolling by... ... he walked by so fast I could hardly get a picture.  Either way, I love admiring things I've grown!

And That's How Marriage Works

It's our 5 year wedding anniversary today! We had planned to get a baby sitter and take the day to go hiking and rock climbing but Jake was needed at the office... so maybe we'll get to have a date this weekend. Year 5 is the year you're supposed to give a gift of wood. (This made me laugh- but in a very immature/inappropriate way. {please tell me you just laughed too?}) But Everett and I went shopping and found a nice wooden picture frame and printed my favorite, recent picture of Jake and I. I cut out 5 hearts and wrote a summery of each past year on the hearts (year 5 is inside of the card). And then I made the coolest cake ever! Jake came home with a bag of groceries and made me close my eyes. When I opened them, he was holding out my gift.... tetris... to play on the X-BOX. And then we made dinner together. Jake bought groceries to make steak and potatoes. Jake made the most delicious and perfectly-seasoned sirloin and crusty fren...

Water Boy

Having two 1 year old boys is so fun sometimes. Today they were in the kitchen laughing at each other. It was so hilarious and I wanted the moment to last forever. These boys play cars, hit & wrestle each other (mostly just Everett beating up on Sawyer... Sawyer is too nice to get him back), they eat tons of food and make huge messes all day long. Today we played with the garden hose: Trying to give Sawyer a drink Sawyer running away We love having Sawyer around. Sawyer is such a good influence on Everett. If I ever want Everett to eat his vegetables I give them to Sawyer first... then Everett gets jealous and wants to eat some vegetables, too! Sawyer is also a little brainiac. If you ask him where his head and ears are he will point to them... Everett is still trying to figure out where his mouth is...

Tacoma Narrows Half Marathon

A friend of mine was going to run the Tacoma Narrows Half with me but decided not to a week before the race. I was SOOOO bummed. I really didn't want to be in the race by myself. But a few days later I heard some of my gym friends talking about what time they were meeting on Saturday morning.... I was totally eavesdropping but they were running the same race and invited me to carpool with them. I was grateful that they invited me along but even more grateful when Brenda (blue shirt) offered to run with me because my goal was to finish in 2 hours 20 minutes (or less) and she has a broken toe so she would be running her slow  pace (her best time is a good 40 minutes less than my goal!). Amber (black shirt) told me to carb up Friday night, hydrate, and eat a PB&J in the morning. I ended up eating cereal for breakfast because we didn't have any bread. We met up Saturday morning and drove over to the starting line in Gig Harbor. When the race was about to ...

He's Walking And I'm Running

It's official, Everett is walking! He had been walking really good all day and when Jake got home he kept walking from one parent to the other. It was so funny, cute, and exciting all at the same time. We are SO proud of him. It's crazy how much joy a little person can bring into your life! We caught him walking a little bit on film: And I am running my first half marathon tomorrow. I have a photo/quote/scrapbook/journal from high school and I was looking through it the other day. I found the page where I wrote about Imogene Pass (A 17 mile run over a mountain). This is what it says: Because I have never had a baby, I would consider this race the hardest thing I have ever done. It was so so so hard but when it was all over I felt so good. Going up and over this mountain takes someone who is 100% determined to cross the finish line on the other side. During those 17 miles I thought about so many things but while I was going up the last two miles of uphill all I could t...
