10 Months… Tickle Her

In two months we'll be celebrating Breckie's first birthday. It's kind-of hard to believe.  It goes by WAAAAAAAY faster the second time around, that's for sure.  Or maybe it's just because Breckie is 100% sweetness… 100% sweetness who LOVES her Daddy! She still loves meat. Like, A LOT. Doesn't really like purees anymore unless it's sweet potatoes.  She wants people food… not baby food :)  She likes to play with Everett's toys ONLY when he's watching. When he's not watching it isn't fun anymore.  She still doesn't have much hair but it's growing! She has 4 teeth on the top, 3 on the bottom and the 4th is on it's way. She likes to stand but doesn't take any steps on her own yet. She'll practically start running once your grab her hands and help guide her.  She likes to drink her bottles sitting up. Crazy girl.  I almost don't want to admit...

Potato (and Corn) Family

For a few weeks Everett was a Mr. Potato Head pro. Every night he'd go upstairs and make his potato family…. a funny version first and then the real version.  I absolutely adore that he makes a potato version of our family.  I'm usually the best looking one… he must love me the most! Everett, you're the man.  Don't ever stop being so awesome. (But, you know, sleeping in your own bed in your own room ALL night would be pretty cool too…) But really, you're as good as it gets, Kid.

Scooter Racing In The House

Everett is just plain awesome… Jake is always up for fun… and Breckie is such a good sport… Put them together and this is what you get! Watch the video… if you're not smiling by seconds 5-9 then there is something wrong with you :)

A Little Harder Than Normal… That's All

Man, oh man.  So the other day I mentioned that I've been doing some family history and one night I came across a birth record and my grandma's parents were the parents. It was the birth record for a girl named Shirly Lee Whitacre born 12 years before my grandma.  My grandma only grew up with a brother. Then I realized that the birth and death date were the same day so she was still born. I called my mom the next day to ask her about it and she said that grandma remembers her mom telling her that she had 6 babies before her brother and her but that they all died. I guess grandma said that her mom mentioned that they were boys so she didn't even know that one was a girl or that she had a name.  I can't imagine having 6 babies all die before I could raise one.  Grandma said that my great-grandmother was a very strong lady and that her mom passed away when she was only 18 so she even helped raise her younger sister… who was dea...
