Candid Carseat

We bought Everett a high back booster so that Breckie could have his forward facing carseat. She doesn't cry so much in the car now, which is really nice! I tried getting a picture of how cute they are in their new seats… this is how it went: Everett looking at Breckie: Breckie looking at Everett: Everett looking at Breckie again: YES, both looking and smiling! How cute is my life?! Well, it was cute for a second… and then this: Haha :)

#Carrotlove

So I've been getting vegetables out of the garden here and there. Some carrots... Broccoli... Peas… Kale… more carrots...  But around Valentines day I posted on Instagram about these carrots I pulled up that looked like they were hugging and kind of in a heart shape and put #carrotlove as a hashtag just to be clever.  A few days later Jake and I were talking about social media stuff and he asked what Instagram was and then asked about the hashtags. So I brought up my last picture and just clicked on #carrotlove and we laughed and laughed when we saw the last picture!! Haha, we totally got a kick out of these!

Shirt Pants

Everett has been so independent lately. It's nice coming from a kid we've had to do everything for for sooooo long.  After learning how to buckle himself into his own carseat… it's putting on his own clothes. On Sunday he took off the clothes that he could and then picked out some clothes to wear. We could hear him up in his room grunting and making all kinds of noises. Then he came out: LOL, he couldn't get his "pants" on! Jake and I laughed for a looong time! (It'a a long sleeves 'long johns' shirt) And apparently he had a little boy itch, too.  But man, what a cute little model we have!

Happy.

This post was going to be about me and running…  There is a big field behind our housing development. Rumor has it that it was once an orange/orange tree farm. Then the houses were built and they stopped farming it.   Then they sprayed the trees to kill them and then years later they uprooted the dead trees and bulldozed the whole thing.  Bummer. Anyways, there's this field behind our house with lots of dirt roads and it's PERFECT for running. It's like a dream. I've been running a little lately. Before running on these dirt roads I was just doing the whole jogging-stroller-in-the-neighborhood scene. It was fine. And still is. But the fields are so much more peaceful, especially in the early morning. It's nice. I feel lucky.  I would wear my watch sometimes just to see how far I was going and my pace.  My pace was anywhere between 9-10 minutes per mile.  Sometimes I think back to running all those half mara...

Breckie's Birthday Party

We threw a party for Breckie on Saturday.  It was like a 1 year birthday/backyard BBQ with friends. There were 4 other families that celebrated with us: 10 adults and 14 kids in total. We had hamburgers, veggies, baked potato salad, chips, lemonade, cupcakes, and ice cream.  We played a version of dart balloons (throwing bean bags at balloons that get pushed into a tacks)... Ping pong toss and ring toss. We also did bubbles and our backyard was a true toy explosion. Then we let Breckie dig into her giant cupcake.  I lit the candle and then Breckie wanted to grab it! After we sang to her she just poked at the frosting for a second and then... Haha, she's so awesome!    Honestly, I think Breckie loved the party. She loved all of the kids and attention and half of the time she just walked around checking everything out. She started walking two days ago and...
