Scooter & Helmet

These two are officially the coolest matching scooter-and-helmet-duo on the block.  And maybe the only… but still!

Corn

We ended up actually growing some corn! We planted it July 15th along with some pumpkin and zucchini seeds. It was obviously too late for the squash because we ended up with two baby zucchini's but not even a sign of a pumpkin. Some of the corn was totally legit (and delicious) and some of the corn cobs were tiny tiny tiny. The corn kernels were regular sized but some of the cobs were only like 2 or 3 inches long. They are so cute! The one on the end is just a disgrace to the corn community, lol! And speaking of corn, Everett made me a shopping list the other day. Candy corn, milk, and carrots. You know, just the essentials :)

Business In The Front, Party In The Back

This girl's been rockin' the mullet for too long! We've had her hair cut several times to give the front time to catch up with the "party" in the back! Maybe by the time she's four, lol!

Kindergarten Gold - Cottage Night

Monday night at school was something called "cottage night". Each quarter of the school year they have a theme and the first quarter was "all about me". Everett learned how to draw and color people, learned about family members, community helpers, etc.  At the end of each quarter the kids put on a little presentation. They said the pledge of allegiance, each kid stood up and said why the were special ("I am special because I make my bed"- Everett), and they sang/recited three other songs AND they did them all in sign language too! *Apparently I put a lot of emphasis on making beds, lol! Everett is in a special iPad class so he showed us a little presentation/slide show on his iPad about himself and his senses. He likes the sound of running water, the smell of chocolate, the taste of pizza… I can't remember the rest! They've also been doing 'writers workshop' and yesterday he came home with several stories he's wri...

Peppersauce Cave

Over the weekend we went camping with the Westovers. They are such a fun family and we spend quite a bit of time together. One of their teenage daughters is our babysitter and their oldest son is serving his mission in the same mission as Effie.  We really have to hand it to them… they packed for 8 people + 1 dog for two nights of camping in their one vehicle.  Luckly the drive to our campsite was less than a two hours drive. After we set up camp we headed over to the Peppersauce cave right away.  They had been in the cave about 4 times before… which I was so thankful for because I would have gotten lost for sure.  It was just one big cave that went on and on with tons of different places to check out.  At the lowest end there was even a pool… and two of the kids got in! It was super cool to me and I love that Everett enjoyed it too. (I had to wear one of Jake's shirts because I actually forgot to bring another shor...
