Sledding Take Two

After hanging around the house for half the day, we needed to get out and play.  So we went sledding again. Jake stayed home with Roxy because a baby and snow just don't mix. Breckie decided she wanted to stay home too...  We had a lot of fun sledding the big hill. At least a dozen times. I couldn't believe how many times Everett walked up that huge hill! He totally surprised me.   When he was tired we went one more time and then I showed him the magic of icicles.  He really liked icicles. I'm also a huge fan :) Breckie and Bridget had fun doing make up, hair, and painted fingernails while we were gone.  Effie and Josh had been traveling for months (a road trip from Texas to Alaska, to Idaho, and their last stop was Colorado before heading back to Texas) and they had gotten there the night before. We enjoyed their stories and the card games they taught us :)

Hunting Bunnies & Sledding

After a night of no sleep for me (I even took sleeping pills... which only resulted in feeling extra groggy the next morning) the boys left to go looking for rabbits.  When they came home Everett told me how they shot a bunny and how there was blood coming out it's eye. 😜 You can probably tell hunting is a new 'sport' for us :) Everett seemed to enjoy the outing.  Breckie wanted to go out in the snow too, so I abandoned Roxy and took Breckie out to see the snow.  Later, we went sledding. We drove 15 minutes towards the mountains and the beautiful snowy fields had me 😍😍 Everett enjoyed sledding...  I didn't even get to see Breckie sled... Thankfully Bridget held Roxy. It's impossible to take two kids sledding and have a baby. Each little person needs a parent. Everett surprised us with how tough he was. He ended up walking miles in the snow throughout the day.  I hiked up the mountain a f...

We Need To Move

I'm having a really hard time trying to decide what to say about our trip to Colorado.... Living in this part of Arizona has been really hard for me this year. I really loved it for a long time. I was so happy to be out from under those constant grey sky of Western Washington. The warm and hot and burning sun was welcomed anytime of the year.  And then I had had enough. I couldn't handle it anymore. I NEEDED seasons. All of them. Not just the eternally cold and rainy Spring of WA or the eternally hot and sunny Summer of AZ... The only sensation I felt from August to early November was a feeling that I was suffocating.  On our road trip to CA (Disneyland in October with grandparents...) Everett saw a leaf fall off a tree and exclaimed "LOOK! Real Fall!" It made me SO sad that Everett saw "real Fall" in southern California of all places (and it wasn't even pretty Fall. It was one brown leaf falling off a tree... no...
