A Touch Of Tyrell

By this point in the trip Jake and I are 100% ready to live in the country. We both miss it but we also realize we don't really have a good option to make it happen right now.  Roxy and Breckie were sick. Breckie started puking #whatsnew? and Roxy's was still sick from the week prior. I had taken her to the doctor but they said it was a virus and there was nothing we could do. Poor Breckie slept the whole drive up the mountain. She missed all the pretty stuff! She didn't even get out of the truck :(  *I'm obsessed with the mountain... especially in the Summer and Fall But by the time we were ready for lunch she was feeling good enough. We played a little putt-putt and the kids always love that!

We had Great Grandma and Roxy so there were only so many things we could do... so we went on a walk.  The weather was amazing.  And the scenery was gorgeous.  Later we stopped by a park to play. We enjoyed playing in the cool air! Roxy was a little dare devil and went barreling down a slide and flew out at the end. She cried a good cry and then we went to the river to skip rocks.  Later we learned that Roxy broke her collarbone. That explains why we cried every time we picked her up or put her in her carseat and why she slept HORRIBLE!!!!! the whole trip.  Grammy did some fun cooking crafts with the kids. Earlier they made Fall sugar cookies and decorated them. 

Our first day in Colorado we did the usual. Hang out at Grammy's house.  After a while we headed to Durango. Breckie drew the cutest picture of her and Everett holding hands. She is so cute :) I checked out lots of thrift stores and found for treasures and we drove around town wishing our town had Fall colors in the Fall! And Everett LOVED hanging out with Papa Tim. He followed him everywhere and enjoyed country life for a few days! It reminded me of when I was a kid and would follow Tim all over the property. He even bought me a mini shovel to help him irrigate one year.

We didn't waste anytime getting out of town for Fall break. Everett had his last soccer game that morning and then we were Colorado bound! Then we realized we forgot Breckie!!! Just kidding :) The trips seem to be getting easier. We stopped in Aztec to eat dessert at the Vanilla Moose.  I hadn't been there since I was a little girl. Around Everett's age. I was a girl scout and we stopped there once and I just remember it being amazing.  The family loved it (we were freezing!) Then we continued on. Jake bought a TV for the truck. Like a real TV and put it on the console between our seats. The kids loved it. 

I adore our kids. 

It was rained so much this Summer/Fall, it's been amazing! We like to take advantage of being outside any chance we get! All of the kids hoped in the pool after school and I made popcorn and they ate it under the umbrella. Kids remember the funniest things and this was Roxy's request. (When Everett and I went to see Jurassic World a few weeks ago, we brought home our leftover popcorn. Jake was in the pool with Roxy and Breckie so they ate the rest of the popcorn while they were in the pool.)  Later that day, after the rain, I went to check out a potential spot for family pictures. With the fallen leaves and the rain IT SMELLED LIKE HEAVEN!!!! I was so deeply happy I wanted to cry a little :) I never knew how much weather and seasons meant to me until I didn't have them anymore!

Breckie was in Dance for a whole month. She lasted a month and I was pretty proud of her for not quitting... but one day she didn't want to go anymore and I wasn't surprised. I tried to talk her into it but she really didn't want to go (so why pay??).  I just hope she doesn't quit school 😅😅😅 We got a flyer for a fundraiser for the high school spirit line. I thought Breckie would love it but she said no.  Then LAST MINUTE she heard that her friend Faith was doing it (and I wanted Breckie to try it) so she agreed. I think she had fun on the Saturday morning when they learned/practiced their cheer.  Then they got to preform the cheer and dance they learned Friday night at the game.  Oh boy were there tears!!! Sheesh. I was so impatient and angry at myself for thinking she'd actually do it. But in the end, she did go out on the field and it looked like she had a lot of fun.
