Jake turned 34 the second-to-last day of December. It was a Saturday and we were finally over the flu so we went out to the Salt River.
It's one of my favorite parts of Arizona.
We walked around, threw rocks in the water, saw a bald eagle and then hiked up a rock/mountain nearby.
It was warm and sweaty.
We stopped by a park on the way home and there was a big VW gathering... it was pretty cool to see all of the old cars and busses.
We also made a pit stop at the nursery to pick out some trees to plant in our new backyard. We want to plant trees right away so they can start growing. It's one of those things that we want right away but isn't necessarily a necessity but we know we'll regret it if we don't make it happen.
Jake and I loved picking out plants and trees... but it's not so exciting for little people :)
That night we went out with some great friends. We ate outside at MOD pizza and then went to see Jumanji. Our babysitter made some bomb homemade brownies with frosting while we were out. We ate them the next day (and all week).
While we were waiting for everyone to show up for dinner, I interviewed Jake.
