Neighbor Party Causes Anxiety

(How do you like the newspaper heading 😅) Some new neighbors invited us over for dinner and we accepted the invite. We were there for only a few minutes before there was another knock at the door and another family came in. And then another, and another, and still two more.  I wasn't expecting it to be a huge party dinner and was feeling overwhelmed by all of the kids, commotion, noise (although the food was amazing!).  Roxy kept wanting me to play with her and I just felt super weird and anxious... so I snuck out and went on a walk.  The neighborhood lights, cool air, and the Christmas music that was coming from a few yards was nice. I've been experiencing a lot of inner turmoil lately and it hasn't been fun. We probably shouldn't have accepted the invite...

Holiday Parties, Assemblies & Concert

After a couple days of being sick, Breckie made it back to school.  Just in time for her class/college cheer at the awards assembly. I took a video of it; it was adorable!! After the assembly, Tana and I went on a hike/walk at the San Tan Mountains. It was a really nice day out! It was also a busy day! Breckie had her Holiday craft party, Everett had his robotics club party, and that evening was Breckie's Holiday concert.  The concert was quite the production! It was so much work just getting everyone there 😅 Breckie was SOOOOO into her scarf that she played with it and twisted her hands all in it (instead of singing) almost the entire time!  One little girl got sick and thew up so there was a little break before the last song.  The last song was a Jingle Bell song and she participated and sang that one :)

Sunday Bikeride

Sunday Breckie drew this adorable Little Mermaid and Flounder. She is so creative.  Later we loaded up the bikes and rode around my favorite neighborhood. SO many leaves had fallen!! There were times we couldn't even see the sidewalk and their were pecans EVERYWHERE! We rode around, ate pecans out of their shells, and then played some good ole' fashioned tag at the park.  Tana, Ev and I rode our bikes home and even found a few road sign that was down. Jake came and picked it up for our collection in the garage!

Hiking Flatiron

I really wanted to take Tana on a couple hikes while she was here. I have heard so much about Flatiron, so that's the one we did first.  It was going to be a sunny & 70 degree Saturday.  Tana almost stepped on the ENORMOUS tarantella. I pretty sure I gasped like 40 times. Too bad we didn't have anything to compare it to.... if you put your the tips of your thumbs together and the tips of your middle fingers together (to make a circle with you fingers/hands... it was about that big.  I didn't know exactly how to get to where we were headed, but the scenery was pretty enough that just wandering around was nice.  I was a little warm but Tana said it was really nice to feel the sun on her skin. #PNWproblems :) Lost Dutchman State Park is so beautiful. We saw two paragliders. There was seriously zero wind to their glide down the mountain was really fast.  *don't we take such flattering pictures??! 😂😅 ...
