I Didn't Mean To

I didn't mean to abandon the family/life chronicles!... especially for this long!!

Life just went fast and I haven't been able to stop for even a few minutes to catch up and document our life.

Roxy turned 5, had a mermaid party.

Everett turned 11, had a trampoline park party.

I went on a girls 'trip' to scottsdale.

We bought a 'Summer/Vacation" house in Utah to satisfy my need/deep desire for seasons.

Persuaded the family to stay in Utah permanently.

Everyone agreed.

We went back to AZ to sell our house.

Sold it, moved everything to Utah and spent the rest of the summer hiking, enjoying our new neighborhood, unpacking.

It was a summer for the books. It was emotionally-charged and very high stress.

We celebrated our 15 year anniversary.

The kids started school here in August.

I worked endlessly on our new house: all new landscaping, painted the house, put in a mantle, painted the ceiling, put in a backsplash, organized and organized and organized. We downsized and I worked so hard to make everything fit and operate to everyone's liking.

Everett played his first season of lacrosse.

I turned 35, Jake made an epic cake.

We bought a different house (because the "summer/vacation" house was never meant to be a full time house and there were some things I just couldn't change #garagespaceforjake). We close next week.

Lived up the Halloween season the best we could.

And every single day we've lived in Utah I've been so deeply grateful. I belong here in the mountains and with the changing seasons. It's everything I'd hoped it would be...

Except Jake's office is still in AZ and he will continue to travel for quite some time. He only goes back for one week out of the month and he's able to work remotely the other 3+ weeks of the month. It's actually not the worst thing ever... it would just be the icing on the cake if (at some point) his office could be here.

I will update with pictures when I can!
