A Touch Of Tyrell

I was actually really sad and cried a lot on my birthday.  I also cried a lot the day before too so I had a crying hangover. You know, where your eyes feel fatigued and you feel dehydrated? It's been a rough 3 years for Jake and I  (some things get better while other things get worse) and I can't seem to stop crying. But it doesn't make anything better... it actually just makes it worse because Jake gets mad that I've been crying so much.  So I slept on the couch, woke up and went on a drive. Life has been too stressful and I needed to get out of the house. When it comes to fight of flight... you can probably figure out which one comes more natural to me.  I ended up driving through midway and park city.  The colors blew my mind.  My mom called and tried her best to cheer me up/offer sympathy/understanding.  I eventually came home to birthday surprises that Breckie and Jake worked on all day.  After baking all day I suggested he skip his dinner pl...

With Roxy in school all day, I'm able to do cool things like go mountain biking in the middle of the day.  It's an amazing feeling.  We're really lucky to have 3 locations for mountain biking within 20 minutes from our house. 

You'd think Utah was Hawaii for how many waterfall hikes there are! The kids and I did this hike this Summer (brought a picnic dinner & got locked out of the car!) and we thought it was super fun, so we decided to see what it looked like in the Fall.  So we drove the Alpine loop the opposite way I did earlier this Fall and Breckie snapped a couple pictures. The weather was really nice and the colors were wonderful. There is such a spiritual, healing element to nature... especially in it's prime.  I'm so glad I get to see this in real life now! I find so much joy here.  I had to piggy back Roxy almost the whole way down and about a third of the way up.  We enjoyed our time at the waterfall and then headed down before it got too dark.  It was all the way dark by the time we got back to our car. I'm so glad these guys are willing to adventure with me!

 I didn't mean to abandon the family/life chronicles!... especially for this long!! Life just went fast and I haven't been able to stop for even a few minutes to catch up and document our life.  Roxy turned 5, had a mermaid party. Everett turned 11, had a trampoline park party. I went on a girls 'trip' to scottsdale.  We bought a 'Summer/Vacation" house in Utah to satisfy my need/deep desire for seasons.  Persuaded the family to stay in Utah permanently.  Everyone agreed.  We went back to AZ to sell our house. Sold it, moved everything to Utah and spent the rest of the summer hiking, enjoying our new neighborhood, unpacking. It was a summer for the books. It was emotionally-charged and very high stress. We celebrated our 15 year anniversary. The kids started school here in August.  I worked endlessly on our new house: all new landscaping, painted the house, put in a mantle, painted the ceiling, put in a backsplash, organized and organized and organized...

Bridget graduated BYU on Thursday... but since graduation isn't in real life these days, my mom and I came to UT to celebrate. But I am SUPER lame and didn't gift her anything... it was more of a gift-trip to ME that she graduated 😁 #thanksbridget They picked me up from the airport and we headed to Park City... our destination for the next two nights. We settled in to our hotel and then ate at Slap Fish. It was delish! We perused Homegoods, bought treats at Whole Foods and then ended the night in the hot tub.  The next morning we headed to Midway. I'd never been to Park City, Midway or Heber so it was fun to see them for the first time. We checked out some local thrift stores and drove around the towns a bit.  Midway is super charming and I didn't want to leave.   I mean, who would want to leave a town that has Swiss names like Zermatt and Interlaken... the two places we stayed on our trip to Switzerland summer of 2019.  We stopped for an impromptu hike.
