Eight Month Everett

This is Everett. He is eight months old today. Eight-month-old Everett loves himself. He loves his reflection. He also loves other kids and babies... probably because he thinks they are his reflection. This kid loves the bath. It is slightly ridiculous. No matter where we are in the house, he will crawl to the bathroom, stand up by the edge of the tub and he'll stay there until you go get him. (And he does this like 100 times a day). Once he fell into the tub. He just lifted a leg and pulled himself right in. He doesn't need any help draining the water either. He knows how to un-screw the plug. He's such a punk! Other than being a punk and draining his own bath water, he: Still has butt issues Crawls to a destination just to stand up... i.e. my leg, chairs, the fridge, his crib slats, the couch Still sleeps like a baby... wakes up all of the time at night Prefers mom over dad (I can say this now because it might be the only time in his life) Cries EVER...

Worth A Thousand Words

Baby Bath Robe

Someone loves baths... He loves them so much that he crawled back to the tub for more... But decided to help Dad drain the tub instead Gotta love that little puppy dog tongue of his... and that bath robe!

Journal #20

I have 19 journals. The earliest one dates back to the 4th grade where I talked about school, boys, and recess everyday. I stopped writing soon after I met Jake... because really, who has time to write in a journal when they're madly in love and spending every waking second with their soon-to-be spouse? Prior to meeting Jake, I literally wrote in my journal every day. If there was anything about myself and my past that I wouldn't change, it would be how diligent I was at writing in my journal. I could sit and read through those memories all day. Every time I open up one of those books, I re-learn something about myself or I change my prospective on something. And I'm so glad I wrote about EVERYTHING. It's not embarrassing to read about past relationships or how much I liked someone. Shoot, Jake's journal goes something like this: Jan 29th I met a girl today. She's perfect. Her name is (not mine) ....... May 22nd I'm Engaged!!! To a girl named Tyrell.....

Hot Tub Baby

I was talking to my mom the other day and I was telling her how Everett needs my undivided attention every second he is awake. She mentioned baby biscuits. My ears perked. "He'll just sit there and chomp on it so you can get something done." So I got him some biter biscuits yesterday. He seems to like them. I do see a major problem though. Mr. don't-ever-wipe-my-face gets all dirty. So he plays with food all over his face... even on the tip of his nose. Then, when I'm feeling up to it, I'll give him a bath. Lately, he just wants to sit up and hang out. He'll kick his feet, play with toys, and relax. Tonight Jake sat him up and he just wrapped his arms around the side like he was in a hot tub. He's such a character! Thanks for water and bath tubs!

In The Sink

I love taking pictures with Everett. He makes me look good every time!

Bath Backwards

Stinky neck rolls and blow-outs require baths. Everett chose option one... so we took a bath this morning. Everett can't help himself... he has to do his exercises right after he is clean: He cracks me up! Dispite his all of his excercise, Baby Ev is getting kind-of chunky! It seems like he as an extra roll every time I change his diaper. I'm pretty sure he is growing too fast for my liking. But at least he is growing!

Better Bath

I'll share my new parent lesson #1. Bath water CAN be warm. This is what bath time used to look like And this was the after bath after math He didn't get many baths. Then my mom came to visit and gave him a bath. He loved it. The secret? Warmer water. So now bath time looks like this He's even starting to splash around. He likes it so much he gets wrinkly toes! Now the after bath is cute Everett has seen himself in the mirror a few times now, but this is the first time he was vocal about it!
