Little Dancer

About half way through Kindergarten Roxy joined a dance class.  She really loved it and it was right up her ally... it was more of an interpretive type of dance. The recital was in May and she did so good! We were super proud of her! *These are pictures from the rehearsals* *she's the only one in blue The sign up for this year was a few weeks ago and at the last minute she decided not to sign up. Even though I was confident she loved the interpretive style, she said she wanted to do the type of dance with costumes.  She's also in Gymnastics so I actually don't know if I'll even put her in dance unless she asks incessantly. She's pretty tired by the end of the week with all-day school anyways. But I didn't want to forget about the year she did interpretive dance!

Kindergarten 'Graduation'

Kindergarten Graduation was on a Tuesday morning. It was much less of a production than Everett's Kindergarten graduation at Eduprize.  Each teacher announced their kids as they walked in and stood on the risers. (Breckie is 4th kid in on the top left row) They sang songs they've been learning in music and they even sang head-shoulders-knees-and-toes in English, Spanish, French & Japanese.  After that we went back to Breckie's classroom where Mrs. Thomas asked each kid what their favorite part of kindergarten was. Breckie said her favorite part was Mrs. Thomas.  Breckie's best friend (Presli) said her favorite part about kindergarten was playing with Breckie. I thought that was so sweet! They seem like two peas in a pod.  *Breckie and Presli and a journal entry from Spring Break that I found in her journal she brought home.  Breckie really loved Kindergarten. We have some work to do this Summer so we can get caught up on...

Student-led Conferences

I can hardly believe the school year is three quarters over! It's gone by really fast.  Right before spring break we had student led conferences. Breckie is doing pretty awesome! She has really made some progress lately with her sight words and sounding words out. I've been really impressed.  At her conference, Mrs Thomas let the kids made a little nest for their peep. No wonder Breckie loves her!!

Shopkins At School & Little Sisters

I know I'm going overboard with the school posts but there are just too many good things coming up! Breckie showed me her Shopkins. They are at school (with a Lego teacher :). They are "in class getting taught, in line for lunch, and in a group learning about science".  Also, when Breckie and Everett got home from school today Breckie and Roxy played and played. Breckie tried on the new dress I bought her (we never did school clothes shopping for her so I just buy her a new dress when I see a good one :) and then Roxy put on the dress Breckie took off. It was adorable. This is only the beginning of a little sister trying to be just like a bigger sister :) And then tonight Roxy wouldn't go to bed until she joined Breckie and I for stories. She's growing up so fast and she talks SO good. She has actually been eating a few things here and there, too 🙌

Happiness Is...

Happiness is... watching two of your kids walk to school and only taking one kid to the grocery store! Happiness is playing with one kid at a time... and getting to decorate.  Happiness is laughing at how awesome your kids are.  *When is Saturday? *I like Fortnite very much (x-box game) +Would you rather be a cat or dog? *Me too, Everett! Dog life seems much more adventurous and exciting! Breckie is loving Kindergarten. She is learning A LOT since she didn't go to preschool and since she didn't want me to teach her anything. #truestory She is learning how to write her name (first and last) and it's so cute to see. Also her drawings are the best!!! She made another perler bead creation at home after school yesterday... Belle this time.  I LOOOOOVE that Breckie added an extra few letters to our last name  BRECKLYN BERNENER :) I also found it adorable that the second page to this little book she made had a new co...

Second Day

Honestly, one of my biggest fears of Breckie going to Kinder would be her not wanting to go the second day. In the past, she likes to do things once and then she's good :) Kind-of like me. I like to watch movies once. That's it. (Unless it's Home Alone!) BUT she went back (happily) for the second day of school. And third and fourth! Roxy is still LOVING being the only kids at home! We play and play and play and when she naps I am a free woman! I get to do whatever I want and no one is crying at me or needing something and I really, really like it :) Roxy is really into "taydoe heads" right now.  She's also really into coloring. She colors on everything and even colored on one of my most favorite pictures Breckie has ever colored. I actually was pretty bummed about it. But she's forgiven. Like always.

First Day of School 2018

Jake and I wanted to take the kids out for dinner the night before school started. Just for fun. Just to celebrate. To make a new tradition.  Bonus... it was/is 117 degrees 😰😓 We took the kids to Red Robin.  We ate lots and lots of calories, had 6 lemonades, 5 baskets of fries, and dessert.  We had to celebrate Breckie going to school for the first time and Everett going into 3rd grade.  The next morning was a breeze. We were all ready and excited for school (they even wore the same outfits and the night before 😆). Everett even made his own sandwich and was ready to go to school without us walking him.  But it was the first day... so we had to get pictures!! Breckie went into class no problem. I left before she could even want me to stay or cry. I am so proud of her! Roxy LOVED being the only kid at home and LOVED having all of the toys to herself. She's gotten into the girly stuff just these ...

Kindergarten Graduation

I'm really glad I was able to make it to kindergarten graduation because it was so cute and I loved watching Everett preform his songs.  At first they had a slideshow of pictures from this year. There was a cute/funny picture of Everett that I barely caught... "I want to be a worker " He knows that Jake goes to work every day and "makes money" so for the longest time he just thought that Jake made money and that he's a worker . It's so cute to see how much he's grown.  They sang the songs that they had been learning all year about each 'cottage' they had been learning about. They were all so cute. At the end they even sang America The Beautiful.  We were in a hurry to get out of there as soon as it was done (because we had a 1-day old!) so we didn't get many pictures... ...but I'm glad we at least got this picture to show the growth of our family over the school year.  We are so proud of Everet...
