Green Machines (soccer)

Everett, his friend Lincoln, and Lincoln's cousin Braylon, all played on the same soccer team this season.  They won their first game and then lost all the rest. They had several players that also played baseball at the same time so they were often playing down a player or two! Everett played in a defensive position and by the end of the season had some great moves I was so proud of! He's not aggressive by nature and so he really has to work hard.  The three of them had some fun times together. They swam several times together in Lincolns pool (I got a good kick out the times they hung out in the hot tub and chatted for hours!) and even had a sleepover.  It was fun to see the three of them play soccer and hang out together.

Everett Turns ELEVEN

For Everett's birthday we went to the Lego store. Everett has been picking out Lego's for his birthday since my grandma sent his $20 for is 4th birthday and he picked out two police cars. He was so adorable with his big toothy smile and focus as he followed the instructions and put them together.  I've always loved Lego's so I don't mind "investing" in them. I feel like they are memory-keepers in a way and a gift that keeps on giving.  He was debating between the Ford Mustang, the Ghost Busters car, or the buccaneers pirate ship.  He decided on the mustang!  He started building it right away... you know it's good when he chooses a toy over screens!!! He told me I didn't need to do all the decorations and stuff but I told him I had to! He needs to know he's special and worth decorating for (no matter how old he is or if he thinks it will embarrass him infront of his friends.  He decided on a party at Elevate (trampoline park) and an ice cream ca...

Roxy Turns FIVE!

I could stare at this picture all day!!!  Roxy absolutely loved being a mermaid on her birthday.  We had a fun mermaid party for her and some of her mermaid friends came to swim and party.  But a birthday isn't a birthday in our house unless you wake up to a kitchen decorated and your cake and presents laid out! I traded a lady newborn photos for Roxy's cake... she was obsessed! She opened her presents from us and then we needed to do a little bit of shopping before the party started.  Roxy felt so special in all of her mermaid gear. She even has a mermaid tail bracelet and necklace.  She even went shopping in her new mermaid swimsuit! We filled her piƱata with all kinds of cool mermaid stuff! Rings, bracelets, keychains, bead necklaces, purses, gold treasure, mermaid tail necklaces, hair clips... Once all of her friends were here, we played some classic birthday party games and then played some games in the pool. Surprisingly, all of the girls could swim on the...

Pre-K Graduate!

Roxy went to Mrs. Laurens for the last two years for preschool. I know she had a good time and other kids learned a lot... Roxy mostly talked about if she got to play at the Barbie station or not! They had a little graduation ceremony where the other kids sang (and signed!) songs... Roxy just stood there occasionally mouthing a word of two and twirling side-to-side! The kids played a little and we ate some snacks afterwards.  I absolutely adore Roxy! It doesn't bother me one bit that she went to preschool basically for the fun of it! She has plenty of years ahead of her to learn all the things.

Summer is Here

It's HOT HOT HOT!! Melty popsicle, sunglasses and sunscreen hot.  And mom-paparazzi/rollerblade/stroller ride mom :)

Trumpet

Everett has been in the 5th grade band all year. I love that he plays band because it's important for him to have music in his life... and learn to read music. Plus I know it's good for him in other areas.  *aaaallllll the way on the right... in the white shirt* Because of COVID, they didn't get to have a Christmas concert. So their spring concert was their first one.  Everett had emotionally quit band at least 10 different times and declared that he wasn't doing band next year. I was totally fine with it. I'm just glad he tried it. But, after the concert, he changed his mind! And I am SO SO SO glad he did!  In fact, the other day he wanted to make sure I sent an email telling the school he wanted to do band for 6th grade.  I'm super proud of him.

Mother's Day

I am one lucky mom! Everyone completely spoiled me this mothers day! I woke up to a trail of M&M's (my favorite!!!) out my door and around the corner into the laundry room... where I found a giant bag of M&M's and a card from Everett! The card was so amazing! I love how thoughtful he is! He wanted to snuggle and watch a movie with me. So he filled up bowls of popcorn (kettle corn for me and butter for him) and m&m's (peanut for me and peanut butter for him).  Breckie made me a cute, laminated 10 favorite things, a cute note and shrinky dink key chain with my favorite color tassel... navy blue! Jake made me Kneaders French toast with fresh strawberries and whip cream for breakfast! See, I told you they spoiled me! For dinner Jake made ribs, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, rolls and a key lime pie from Kneaders.  They are all so sweet and thoughtful. At church they handed out DELICIOUS homemade cinnamon rolls to all the women. I feel very lucky and blessed to h...
