Sawyer And Everett

Sawyer Monson was born just 3 short weeks after Everett. They first met when they were about 4 and 7 weeks old. They met again a few weeks ago... I love this picture. They probably thought they were looking in the mirror! What do you do when it starts to get dark around 5:30? Have a party. We have never really had more than one set of friends over at the same time... so we have been so excited all week to have this party. And a party wouldn't be a party if Everett didn't have a friend come over too... And their girlfriends... This picture cracks me up... look at the drool on these two boys! Everett didn't mind sharing one bit. They played together like champs. Everett has never been that content. He loved having a friend his same size. And they even had a little sleepover when it was late enough. We had so much, so much, so much fun. I laughed so hard all night. We played a game called Last Word and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time... but I laughed harder when...

Hot Tub Baby

I was talking to my mom the other day and I was telling her how Everett needs my undivided attention every second he is awake. She mentioned baby biscuits. My ears perked. "He'll just sit there and chomp on it so you can get something done." So I got him some biter biscuits yesterday. He seems to like them. I do see a major problem though. Mr. don't-ever-wipe-my-face gets all dirty. So he plays with food all over his face... even on the tip of his nose. Then, when I'm feeling up to it, I'll give him a bath. Lately, he just wants to sit up and hang out. He'll kick his feet, play with toys, and relax. Tonight Jake sat him up and he just wrapped his arms around the side like he was in a hot tub. He's such a character! Thanks for water and bath tubs!

Barium Bury Me

"Do you want me to come with?" We were talking about Everett's x-ray appointment. "I really really really want you to come, but if you can't I totally understand." This was my way of saying yes please, I might die if you don't come . So he came. And its a good thing he came. First, Everett got to show us just how good he looks in a Looney Toons hospital gown (I thought I was prepared and brought the camera... but I forgot the memory card. So these pictures are compliments of Jake's camera phone) While we were playing dress up, the x-ray tech was mixing a big bag of Barium. Ba. Atomic number 56. A silvery-while concoction that would end up in our baby's intestines. But first, they had to get an x-ray of what his intestines looked like before the Barium. We had to lay him of this little board and strap his arms up by his head, wrap his tummy tight, and strap his feet to the board. He was so cute and so brave. I was so bummed I forgot the memory car...

98%

The other day a friend asked if we were all moved in. Jake responded with a proud "98%" There always seems to be just one more thing to do before we are totally moved in. Call me crazy, but I like moving for the fact that everything gets a new home... even my super small jewelry collection. In our last house I hung my earring in an old picture frame with a window screen stapled behind it. If got the job done but it was time for something else. I found some knitting stick in my craft room and asked Jake "how do I get these on the wall to hold my earrings?" He came up with the eye hooks... he's genius I tell you. Thanks for imagination.

Copier

Everett with his airplane and car I take pictures of Everett almost everyday. I have 167 folders in my pictures file from this year alone. I would be devastated if I ever lost them, so I back them up every month. I just burn them onto a disk at home and then print my favorite picture on the front. There are definitely other ways to back up your photos, but this way works best for me and I have a cute CD for each month... or 2 CD's for each month! This way, if the computer ever explodes, I'll still have my sweet pictures of Mr. Expression. . Thanks for technology. And thanks for digital pictures.

It Matters When Its Black And White

When we were at the hospital last week Dr. Holland needed to teach me how to probe Everett. Jake wasn't able to make it so the nurse volunteered to help Everett stay calm. Everett has a way of making you feel bad for.... well, everything! If I try to pick a booger out of his nose he cries like I've hurt his feelings so bad. Same thing when it comes to clipping his nails. (So that's why he has boogers in is nose and scrapes on his face (from long nails) in every picture...). When the nurse was trying to console him he looked her right in the eyes and laid it on thick. Her heart melted like butter on toast. A few minutes later she walked in with 3 different stuffed animals. It was no surprise when he picked the black and white cow over the elephant and giraffe. He has always loved his black and white toys the most. On his jumperoo there is a "wheel" that has a white dog and a black penguin inside, along with a bunch of little balls that make noise when he spins it. ...

Glistening

We had 3 days of Summer-like weather last week. It was bliss. Everett is a mad man if he doesn't get out of the house... so we go on a long walk at least once a day. Last week it was so beautiful I couldn't believe it was November! By the third day in a row I got smart enough to bring my camera. He is usually sleeping by the end of the walk. I was just swinging on the porch swing when he woke up. I picked him up and he snuggled right up to me.... and that NEVER happens... so I reached over and grabbed the camera. My pits were a little sweaty... It was too nice to go inside so we played on the blanket for a little bit His hair was glistening in the sun. He was born with hair... but there were always a few hairs that were always way longer in the back. Those hairs never fell out. I'll have to cut them soon because they are like 4 inches long! Then it was time. Time to meet the grass... And then we tried tasting it... He cracks me up. I love watching him experience new things...
